The most fun I have had on my Buell was in a parking lot. Totally OT, sorry. |

Dean - Do you have Jigs? I just Googled "jig design basics". I suspect you will be ramping up soon. :-) |

Why does it always end up dean talking about himself , me ,I , my designs . For god sakes bud lay of the pipe . Were talking about the shootout. Not about your designs. Go start another Thread. Every time I get into a thread al I see is dean talking about his pipes. Easyrider isn't even that pushy. Get a grip on reality bud. |

Curve_carver, First time on the internet, just kidding, I kid, I kid. I hear what you're saying, but what thread of length doesn't get side tracked; after all, I’d venture to say that a lot of us are ADD . Any who, Dean doesn’t mean any harm, he’s just passionate, and frankly, I think it's cool that he responded professionally to what some may view as unkind words. ~ J |

I appreciate deans passion. I just don't see kfab, easy, or barker pushing so hard. This is a forum not a advertising outlet mall. I do appreciate how much these guys are hitting the tuning and pipe making up so hard . I for one have a hmf and a ebr tune. And I'm completely satisfied. It was a cheap pipe as I got it used for 175.00. I do feel the bike was completely transformed after these additions. I'm very happy I'm just curious to the results. Bring em on!! |

At this point i cant wait anymore... Summer is half over. It could take weeks to hear back from manufacturers... If they are like any manufacture we have ever delt with before. Im just gonna purchase the fmf and ebr ecm and call it a day. Been waiting 2 months already |

I just finished the very last step. I'll be posting it to the American Sport Bike site tomorrow from work, and hope to get Christine at JT&S to get it up then too. The audio archive of 11 wav files is about 11.2 MB as a zip file. I've been struggling to get the files as small as possible, finally got it figured out (FYI, don't try to convert 32 bit wav files to .mp3, it makes REALLY horrible noises). I'll post it up as is, with 2 archives, the Test Report Archive with all the text report and dyno charts, and an Audio Archive that'll just have the audio data. I'll have to watch bandwidth. I don't know how many downloads to expect initially. I think it'll be OK with two mirror sites (American Sport Bike and JTS) Al |

As if all the yammering before your published the test wasn't enough, now you have to worry about all the curious minds crashing your site with all the downloads! Try posting it to a free FTP host such as: http://www.drivehq.com/ftp/ Put the download link on your site so you still get the traffic, but don't compromise your business infrastructure! Thanks for all the work and support Al! Jeff |

Jeesh. Why attack Dean for answering questions and offering insight into the details and development of his products? To me it seems very appropriate for him to do so here and I think it should be welcomed. In fact in my opinion instead of some of you giving him a hard time about it, you should be encouraging it. The other manufactures should also feel welcome to do the same so we can make better more educated decisions. Best wishes / good luck to Dean and all the other manufactures who put so much into this. |

> (FYI, don't try to convert 32 bit wav files to .mp3, it makes REALLY horrible noises) You are doing something wrong or have a crap encoder. Since you are using 32-bit float, are you using Nuendo or Cubase for the files? Those should convert elegantly within those products themselves. Use "audio mixdown" and select high-quality, 192k MP3 as the output format. If that still goes insane, use a decent dither like 24 or 16-bit Waves or 16-bit UV-22. Most people aren't going to be able to play a 32-bit floating wav file anyway, since it's a professional audio format and Windows won't support it. (Message edited by jdugger on July 13, 2010) |

I agree with Dalton. I didn't read anything from Dean that sounded like he was peddling his product. I only took that he was being pro-active in providing information specific to his product. And no, I don't own one of his pipes. Although I was very interested based on what I had heard about them, after emails with him, HE convince ME that his pipes were probably louder than what I was looking for. That's a conscientious entrepreneur in my book! |

Even though Dean and I don't have the same love for parking lots, I enjoy his passion, insights and his willingness to dialogue. We complain when vendors don't communicate enough, and then we complain when they communicate too often? And I would like also to thank Al for all of his efforts... I continue to order stuff from him and I think that I may be ordering an exhaust from him in the not too distant future (I'm thinking Drummer at this point, but I'm gonna need me a belly pan, too). |

Again, Thanks much to Al, Dean, and everyone else not named here who put in a huge effort on this. One more of the intangible benefits of owning an American Superbike! Can't say it enough, I really appreciate the effort (even though I have an exhaust I am happy with already).
