What is up with the schrader valve on the Showa monoshock?

Are you ever supposed to check/adjust the pressure?

Couldn’t find anything about it in the shop manual.

Most cartridge shocks are charged with nitrogen. A suspension guy will know what to do with that.

Well...I am my suspension guy. LOL

What pressure should I expect, not that I have any nitrogen.

It seems to me that shock pressuer would be the first place to start when tuning in the suspension in that a change in shock pressure would affect all other adjustments. Kind of like tyre pressure.

It's been a while since I rebuilt a shock, but I believe the shock is under pressure to reduce the size of any air bubbles that might be inside. Pressure is not used as a tuning tool.

Then again, I could be wrong.
