I was thinking of that day when the valve check rotation would occur. Is the dealer handling any part of this for any of you? |

Regarding Jet hot. I've had a couple of bikes done by them and would recommend simply for esthetics. Heat reduction is a bonus. Have nothing but fine things to say about their customer service and product quality. However, (being a cheapskate) I found a local guy here that does it as well so check your local yellow pages. May save you on shipping and overall costs. He's near in Delavan WI if anybody's interested. |

Because the 2008 1125r runs much cooler on my dyno, I swapped injectors used a 2008 ECM with my flash and, gone where the heat problems on a very hot running bike even with my tune in, so maybe domebody wants to try this.. I will support a tune for free if the setup is available.. |

Datsaxman I don't think there is anything special you will need to do with the 1125 to get it ready for Death Valley. You might want to pop off the right pod cover and look at the coolant overflow container and make sure there's coolant. Otherwise I think the 1125 is ready to go in the heat. |

Thanks Mountainstorm. Fresh oil, topped off fluids for sure. Sorta shocked that nobody has any advice or dire warnings or voodoo or anything. A chance for me to try out *your* ideas under the most extreme conditions on the planet for three days. You know, 120F in the shade. Except there is no shade. 200 pounds of experienced rider hustling through the desert, up and over the mountains, and alternately putting along for hours. And no takers? saxman |

Gimme a ring when the temperature is in the teens and it is snowing. Buell's can be a ton of fun then! |

Ditto on Froggy's comment. I'm hardly riding at all now that it's above 50F. Maybe if it rains... |

those having problems with coolant temperature yes most of you have made sure that its at the right level, but I was glancing at the old posts on this thread i dont think that any one has made mention to checking the strength of the coolant. Can be full of coolant but if its not mixed properly for the environment that it's being used in isn't going to cool properly. food for thought |

Less coolant in the mixture will cool better than a higher ratio of coolant to H20. Coolant is a misnomer. Antifreeze is much more apt description. |

Datsaxman - Would you be able to keep a log of your adventures? I know that we can all learn from you! THX |

That's where mine was when i got it I have no idea if it's supposed to be there or below the dash. I have no problems with turning the wheel to either side though. |

If you can't stand the heat... You are riding around with a 97.5 kW furnace between your legs. Whaddaya expect??? I don't mean to be mean, but more power = more heat. everytime. There are ways to mitigate it some, but Physics doesn't tolerate cheaters. Totally anecdotal, but I think the 1125 is cooler to ride than my 09 Uly. Zack |

Well I've been rather busy so no time to update. The G/F was diagnosed with Epilepsy so I've been trying to get that situated. However, a few weeks back when I went and picked up the Buell on the ride home the bike stalled 4 times. 3 times coming off of a stop and once in 2nd doing 45 down the road while I was on the throttle. IIt doesn't jerk or sputter or anything you just hear a Click and then nothing, Just shuts off. Have to re-start the bike, Which it hasn't had an issue doing. When i stalled while rolling I actually Clutched, and restarted the bike while rolling and dropped back to first and kept going. Called the dealer as soon as I got home and told them what was going on and told them to send someone out to come get the bike. That was a no go cause towing is almost $100.00 So the bike has sat until today. About a week ago Dealer calls to tell me the insulation they ordered for my bike had come in and to bring it in to them. So today I pull the Buell out and figure I'll ride the back way to the dealer. 3 times it stalls out on me on the way their. 2 at lights coming off a stop and 1 while rolling across the Toll bridge in first. Dropped the bike off and was told that they won't even be able to look at it until next week. I wish I knew more about Lemon Laws and Motorcycles, because at this point the dealer has had my bike in their possession more then I've had it in mine since I bought it. Mike |
