I am using the Angel ST rear tire, 2K miles and so far so good, they grip really nice, no sketchy or pucker moments and I have pushed them semi-hard (Not track duty). Very light tire too, some good deals out there as well. I am not using the Angel ST front tire, I found that the Rossi front is a little softer, better grip, with the same tread design and construction for the same price. |

I have not seen anything on the ST tires, but I just finished reading the July issue of Motorcyclist and they wrote a short article on the Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP tires. Ducati, Aprilia, MV Augusta, and KTM are all selling their big dog 150+ bhp shod with these tires. They thrashed all these bikes at Infineon and were impressed with the tire wear. The article mentions the SC version which is a softer race compound, but nothing about an ST in that tire line. |

The Supercorsa would be a poor choice as an ST tire because it does not perform well in the wet. The SP is basically the Supercorsa in a street compound. |

I used Bridgestone BT-016's at the last track day, they broke loose twice. First time, the tires were still cold and I hit it a little too hard in turn one, 2nd time was in the 3rd session at turn 5, I ran a little wide and hit a greasy patch. I was told later that there's some tar there and that's what caused it. Never went down, only had some sliding like a motorcrosser in the dirt. Otherwise, they stuck pretty good for my skill level, I guess it was running about a 1:35-1:40 at BHF, maybe a little faster. (Message edited by d_adams on June 25, 2010) |
