Just a guess! I bought some 3m tape for dirt bikes and covered my left side swing arm to keep the gas from eating/staining the paint! This is working great for the most part, but I have a little paint rubbing off in the wheel bearing area where I have not covered, which brings me back to the possible cause of a bad wheel bearings and ceasing up the back rim. I have a feeling theres going to be more people on the waiting list for new back rims/bearings/axels. Could the gas or gas vapors be the cause? |

All i know is if you mix gas with grease it thins out the grease. If vapors were to get inside the sealed water proof cover not vapor proof, this could slowly break down the grease and cause a failure. I hope someone puts a little thought into this and tells me I am wrong. I am off for a ride on my 1125R that seem to lack power in 2nd gear lol. |

The only problem I have with the gas vapor thoery it that gas vapor rises, after it leaves the tube, for the most part, it goes right back up. I also find it hard to belive gas is dripping from the bent directly on to the bearing I am not near my bike to check this but that is my thought |
