Damn I guess sitting for 4 months while in Iraq and the heat must of got to my clutch seals. Went out just a few minutes ago and noticed a little oil on the ground and looked at my clutch cover and noticed it is leaking from the little weep hole. First issue I have had with the bike. They did the stator harness yesterday so I assume they must have ripped the seal when doing that. I rode to work today first ride and it has almost emptied the resevior. So the heat from the ambient air temperature when the bike was in storage was more than what the engine endures while running? Try grabbing the clutch cover with a bare hand after riding for a while to figure that one out. The harness is no where near the clutch; they didn't do anything to your clutch at the dealer to cause the leak. The leak is the result of a design defect that is remedied by a kit. In my case for some reason it took a second kit and a new clutch cover to resolve the problem. Talk to your dealer about getting the leak fixed. |

They all leak eventually. yours was most likely leaking when you put it in storage. The kit is back ordered, so good luck. |

Called the dealer and they said that they would have it fixed in an hour tomorrow morning. So I guess I will see what happens. |

Damn that sucks. Mine is in the shop right now. Said they have the parts and will have it back this afternoon. The dealer I go to is really surprising me with the quality and speed of service. |

The clutch weep is a known issue, had nothing to do with sitting...or the harness as for fast service, feel lucky.. my bike has been at the dealer for 2 months.... Not really a big deal since i'm here where you just got back from...... happy riding. |

I must have jinxed myself, just got a call and they are going to have to rebuild the clutch, not sure what they mean or what it entails but it will be down for about 2 weeks, I guess time to get the lump of a Harley out to ride. LOL Stay safe over there Steve. (Message edited by 03fatboy on June 16, 2010) |

is there any way to visually inspect and determine if your bike ('09) has the updated parts? |

Joe I don't know, but if it isn't leaking ride the hell out of it and enjoy. It isn't a recall part just warranty work so I don't think they would do anything unless it was leaking. |

How does that puck come off the cover, btw? Does it screw off, pry off - what? Mine got dropped and scratched by a friend, and I need to replace it. KeS |

Just pop it off with a screw driver. There are notches underneath it. |
