Author Message   Trafford Posted on Sunday, June 13, 2010 - 04:53 pm:        Anyone notice a weave at over 100mph that gets worse progressively as speed increases above 100? It is worse still in windy conditions. Handle bars start to shake too. Bike has perfect wheel bearings, tyres and steering head adjustment and it only does it with the lowers attached. Maybe air is getting in/under one of the fairings where it shouldn't? In fact I feel the bike resists buffetting from crosswinds better with the fairings. I also get a bit better knee tuck behind the fairing. I've run the bike up over 150 on occasion and have been known to cruise the ton for miles at a time in the right locale...I'd make sure nothing is loose and flexing or flapping about.   Pattio Posted on Sunday, June 13, 2010 - 08:31 pm:        I've got the slightly-melted-fairing problem, and the occasional-awol-fairing-bolt problem, but although I am mostly bald, I definitely don't have a weave.   Petebueller Posted on Monday, June 14, 2010 - 12:55 am:        I got speed wobbles at about 170kph. Other friends have it at speeds varying from 160 - 200kph. It seems worse of the the right is spaced out to get some exhaust clearance. Mine kept coming loose all the time. The brackets don't lock into the 2010 engine cases the way they did on the 2008. Coming loose may be be part of the problem. I've taken it off for the moment. I had two Michelin Road Pilot IIs fitted and this is the only major change recently. So it is now a process of elimination. Dunno what else to tell ya except I'd take them off and see if it continues.
