Do you have an ohmmeter? My suggestion is to take the reading and do the math. Here's what I did for mine: V = IR Let's take V to = 13V Stock reading = 0.180 amp New reading = 0.016 amp 13V = (0.180 amp-0.016 amp=aprox 0.160 amp)*R 13/0.160 = 81.25 So roughly I needed an 80 ohms resistor. Someone mentioned the other day that if you unplug the instrument cluster and then reconnect it will sort out the flash rate for you |

3vil_twin, That doesn't make any sense. Going to aftermarket signal with fewer bulbs requires less current. Therefore, because volts are constant, to get the current in line, you need to increase the resistance. Bottom line, no, do it my way! |

I did this on my M2 with a flash relay, but it works either way...remember to take the current of BOTH signals and try to match it as described above in Arc's post. One side note- you must put the resistor in parallel with one of the LED (not in series). The other thing to consider is wattage. The above example would be (I^2*R or V*I) both equal 2watts. You ~could~ get away with a lower watt resistor, but it will still give off 2W of heat during flash cycles. I would suggest the aluminum frame resistors that you can mount to allow the heat to go somewhere. In my M2, I mounted them to some AL angle in the tail under the seat. They would get warm, but nothing to worry about. |

Thanks for the info Arcticcr. Man.. These mirrors are awesome when it comes to eliminating vibration. Only downside is the 4 LEDs. Another gripe about them. Is the super thin wire leads they use. Could be much thicker gauge of wire. Other then that. They sure beat the OEM mirrors. |

Puredrive, I did these back in March and got the resistors directly from Moto-Science, they come in a pair and I installed them in the headlight bucket using zip ties to hold them in place (drilled a small hole inside the bucket). |
