What good is the tech line if you cant talk to a tech? i'm playing the game where the tech line calls the dealer and the dealer calls the tech line. LET ME TALK TO THE TECH! oh call 414-343-4056 and complain about your issues. maybe, just maybe if enough people do they will get off their asses. i am trying to get them to put the 08 stator and necessary parts on my 09 CR. why wouldn't they just do this if it will solve all the problems. their advice for me (from the dealer "via tech line") was to: A. Dont ride with your high beams on. B. If you do keep the RPMS above 5k. c. Keep a tender on it. my respose: A. I dont ride with my high beam on and I have HID low beam which pull less current than halogen. B. I keep it above 5k, thats how i ride. C. The bike does not sit so it doesnt need a tender, MY bike pulls less current than a factory bike and I have no accessories on it. Its all HID and LED. |

07xb12ss... long story short... the long story here... http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/290 431/587394.html?1282710161 baggh(umm me) are my comments within the thread. I talked with my HD service manager yesterday... he said that he spoke to his superiors several times and finally... well... his superior told him that they are ready to discuss options with me. Options that will settle my issue in a way that ensures I leave their dealership happy (which is what I wanted all along). He is setting up an appointment for himself, this HD big whig, and myself to get this taken care of. Everybody has their own individual deal or solution that will make them happy... and i think HD is going to do just that for me *keeping fingers crossed* So... my advice is not to accept their preventive measure "non-fix" recommendations. Call HD customer service regularly, work with you dealer (tactfully), and stay on top of this. I feel as if my dealer wants to find a resolution as badly as I (we) do... but it takes some time\ effort\etc. Anyway... check out that thread for more details. |

Danxb9r > you may want to see if you can get the harness wiring checked. I had my batt light coming on at very low mileage and assumed it was the stator, but I took my bike to a different dealer who correctly rewired the harness. It was charging fine until my motor went kaput :P I had the harness installed prior to taking delivery of the bike, and started having charging issues around 500 km or so. |

Lucky_jim... thats is exactly what my 1125 did... harness upgrade\stator replaced during the same service. about 200~500 miles later battery light coming on... about 1500 miles later... dead battery. The techs changed my battery saying everything looked fine... the next day I rode it.. battery light coming on. I took it back to them and they stated that they checked and rechecked the harness install and said it looked good. Battery light still coming on and progressing in the duration it stays on (cause its being drained). Dannybuell... lets hope so. I sure love this bike... when its running that is. No matter how much you luv something, as I said before, if it continuously lets you down with no fix in sight then... well... that thing you luv quickly turns into a pain in the you know what (kinda reminds me of some past ex's |

add me to the list.... 6100 miles, about 2k since the harness was installed. Died at North side HD in Richmond VA, but had to tow it south 30 miles to Colonial HD because Richmond does not work on Buells. Thank you AMA roadside assistance. |

I got my bike back from High Country HD/Buell in CO and everything is good so far. I started her up in the parking lot and once she warmed up, the voltage read 14.1. As she sat and idled, it dropped to 13.8 and that was it, stayed right there. I took of on my trip back to UT and periodically checked the voltage. It ranged from 14.1 to 13.5. 530 miles later, I parked her in the garage but since I was so wiped, I forgot to put her on a tender. I just now started her up, and let her run for about 10 minutes...voltage fluctuated between 13.9 and 14.0. I had the harness "upgrade" about 150 miles before the stator crapped out. The dealership had a stator overnighted and that one didn't work either, so they had to find a second one from somewhere. It seems to be doing the trick. We'll see... I'll say a good word to the gods electrical Kerry. I'm waiting on the delivery of the "right" voltage regulator. |

Thanks Dan...I bet you have them on speed dial... It was so wonderful seeing her again...got that big goofy smile. When I threw a leg over, it was like putting on my favorite pair of jeans...just fit right. It was a fun ride too! |

Danny Yes DC brag. I have a link to that website somewhere. Still have the Tuber (S3) and a Vrod so I'm not too upset about the CR. Hopefully it will be fixed sometime this year. |
