Set the Run/Stop switch to the Run position. Turn the ignition key to the On position. With the engine off, rotate the throttle grip from its closed throttle position to the wide-open throttle position and back to closed position three (3)times, holding the throttle grip against each stop (open and closed) for one (1)full second. Cycle the ignition key off and back on. |

You dont have to cycle the key off, i dont know who keeps getting that story up, after THE reset you can imediatly start the engine |

Dris, the factory service manual states that the key should be cycled off then back on, at least for the air-cooled bikes. I'd assumed it was the same for the 1125's. |

To zero the TPS: 1. Set the Run/Stop switch to the Run position. 2. Turn the ignition key to the On position. 3. With the engine off, rotate the throttle grip from its closed throttle position to the wide-open throttle position and back to closed position three (3) times, holding the throttle grip against each stop (open and closed) for one (1) full second. 4. Cycle the ignition key off and back on. |

Blake, if you measure the signal when doing this, you would see it is not making any change after the reset with or without key off the signal voltage is the same |

I believe you Dris, just seems like a good idea to be better safe than sorry and follow the factory instructions. |

It might be my imagination, but I thought I heard a little 'click' each time you pause at WOT and CT. |

in diagnostic mode, my tps at closed is 2.0 at wfo, it goes to 90---then slowly } climbs to 95.5. I have reset several times .This happens regardless of steering lock to lock or straight. WTF? Normal? |

After having Dris reprogram my ECM, performing the TPS reset exactly like he said made a HUGE difference. |

I sent my Erik Buell Racing ECM back thinking it was broken. I had failed to reset the ECM properly. I just received it back and following the instructions on this thread, installed the ECM successfully. I live in Oregon so it's raining. It starts up and idles nicely in the garage. :-) P.S. This thread should also be in the new owners reference area. |

Guess I got lucky, or I'm about to be surprised. I swapped the OEM ECM with Race ECM and it just worked beautifully. I still have not pulled the battery or done a TPS reset as Loretta has NEVER run this good in 25k miles. Z |

I put about 50 miles on the bike today. It does not get nervous at 3000 rpm and just seems more relaxed. Short shifting gear changes in quick order now work. -----City----- I am relearning the lower end of the power band at this time. There is much less surging. The power delivery is much smoother. This is the bike I had hoped for, relaxed and with more torque. -----Freeway----- The bike is as good as it ever was on the freeway rolls more with the race module's IAC setting. I understand the race module's IAC giving less torque argument for suspension balance and will give it a try. |

HAte to rewaken a dead thread but.... Is there any reason the procedure shown up top wouldn't work? I have tried it half a dozen+ times now and still no love. Bike has new stator and harness upgrade. |
