Well, it is old news for many, but it is new to me. I have the '08 and just upgraded the flash. What did it do? EVERYTHING IT WAS SUPPOSE TO DO! 1) Smoothed out the idle 2) Engine runs a bit cooler 3) Power-band begins at 3K rpm now instead of about 3.7K rpm 4) MPG up to 37-39 average (And I have been running the hell out of it!) I'll finally be able to run nearly 200 miles before fill ups if need be! Why bring up this old (but new to me news)? So if any of you other guys are out there with '08 running the old flash you'll read this and go get the newer one! |

Why did you wait so long? |

I only got the bike in December '09. It was still new in the damned box! So I only waited about 2,000 miles. I didn't realized it would make such a difference. |

I bought my '09 in October. The flash made a noticeable difference. |

Did you have to pay for the flash or was it covered under warranty? |

TOTALLY UNDER WARRANTY. So do not pay the dealer anything. If the dealer wants $$ call H-D customer service before going. From what has been posted here, they'll hook up with a reference number for the dealer. I think the flash Toni put on is US M3HU03Z. But he might have used the Euro version M3HE03Z since the shop I used is in Italy. I'd have to go pull it up to be sure. |
