an Erik Buell Racing pump gas ECM? With stock exhaust and K&N air filter. Maybe already a thread on this. Thanks. |

How do you ride? Most people have seen a slight reduction in mpg with the race ECU. Whether that's from the better fueling making the mixture at cruise richer, or people enjoying the bike more and pushing harder, I don't know. |

I do back road two and three hundred rides, five miles to and from work with a WOT now and then just to keep it cleaned out. Not much freeway. |

did you buy this bike for fuel economy? |

Rob 1, sounds like my riding, I get about 33 to and from work 7 miles each way. About 40 when on back roads. Not sure on highway mpg yet. |

I was stunned to report 39 MPG this Winter running up and down mountain highways in 5th and 6th between 55 and 75 MPH. When I am on roads using lower gears and more throttle I get about 31 MPG. Average is 33 MPG after a few thousand on the E B R ECM. |

did you buy this bike for fuel economy? If someone's putting a lot of miles a year on it, a significant shift in fuel economy *does* matter. Not a huge amount, but it does matter. |

I went from an average of 33mpg indicated on the cluster down to 31mpg, this was after I installed my race ECM, K&N, and Keda RT-3. Would I go back to my old setup to get 2mpg back? Not a chance. |

(Petereid) No but it gets more miles per tank then my Tuono Factory. (Chevycummins) Thats close to what I get now but better, 35 back roads with stock air filter. Don't know to work just that its much less by about 50 miles a tank. |

I got two ECM's on the way, one for each of my 1125's. I will post up my numbers |

Froggy, your numbers don't count because you have those special low rolling resistance tires and that wax that was designed by NASA for the space shuttle. |

I found it's 1-2 MPG less than stock. |

Froggy, Your MPG figures dont count! MPG numbers are on a running motor, not one thats shut off and coasting down hills. |

Well if my average goes up 4mpg, what does that mean? |

On my 09 1125R, I had an average of 33 MPG running a K&N air filter and Jardine RT5 set pretty much max rich across the board. Fuel/air ratios were around 13.5:1. Now with my new Erik Buell Racing ECM for street gas I'm averaging 30 MPG. Haven't had it on the dyno yet but I think it has a bit more power and is definitely running cooler. |

"... set pretty much max rich across the board." forgot to add in the previous post that I was running a Jardine Pro Tune 3. If I remember right it was set to close to max rich on the cruise mode and all the way on the acceleration and full throttle sensitivity modes. BTW I don't need the Pro Tune 3 anymore. Anyone out there want one? |

I have the latest flash on an otherwise stock engined CR. Riding with a group on the Talimena trail last weekend, not hot dogging it, I got a surprising 40 mpg. That's the same as I get on the V-Rod when riding in a group. By myself, on either, I get a lot less. 31-32 mpg around town. The V-Rod gets a lot better mileage at high altitude (>50 mpg). Haven't had the CR up high yet. Ambient temp makes a diff as well. Cold air reduces mileage a lot. On either bike, I suspect. |

Too soon to say for sure, but I suspect I will have a new personal best soon, the Erik Buell Racing ECM is fantastic |

I think I will have a personal best LOW MPG this weekend and I am SOOOOO looking forward to it! |

My personal best low MPG was 20 but that doesn't count because that was on the original 08 flash. |

Froggy Method with the Erik Buell Racing ecm and letting the ECM learn first I got 250 out of a tank. it worked out to be 52 MPG, the fuel light was on when I stopped and I had to lean the bike way over to get it started the last time cause it was almost out. I haven't been able to repeat it, I think mainly cause the bike is to much fun and mu short attention span. I am sure this news will make Froggy happy. its an 09 CR with an FMF and stock air filter. Front and rear o2's are at 100% |
