Well after fighting computer glitches, software compatibility, rain, a bad 02 sensor on the front cylinder, we got started. Ran the stock muffler first then the D&D--LOUD!!!--working our way on to the FMF before the evening shut us down. Lots of fun!! |

nice. What setup you guys using? Any 4 gas and egt numbers being checked for optimal timing and temps? (not the tuner for the ecm, the reading equipment for the bike)emissions and stuff readings. I have asked a few places and cant seem to get a answer to see who is using 4 gas and egt numbers to set the ecm's. I did use them but the shop owner where I worked through closed shop and sold the dyno with the toys. arghhhhh Do we get a run down on pipes being tested? are these just sound bites and wot running's? Are we getting a mid throttle run on these also? One each style would be nice. Because who rides wot everywhere? |

Since they are well underway, I would assume it is too late to change the testing plan. However, I believe most of the details on what they are doing are here |

Working my butt off doing changes on pipes, making good progress.(Only one small burn to my hand!!) No rain so we can do all the sound tests we skipped yesterday. I will let Al tell all but the Erik Buell Racing tuneable ecm is sure nice. |

I would prefer a system where; 1. you can't hear the engine's timing chain when the engine is revved. 2. power was made at the lower end of the RPM spectrum. low end power is so much easier on the street. The waiting continues. |

Danny, I stopped waiting when I got my KEDA RT1 Ok I can't substantiate any changes in power curve yet, but it felt good with stock and still feels good with his pipe. Erik Buell Racing Race magic box going on this weekend |

Its going to take a couple weeks to distill the data, format all the plots consistently, and write up the test report. Once complete, it'll be downloadable off of the American Sport Bike site and mirrored on the JTS site. AL |

Now that's funny. I appreciate the vote, but I doubt it would happen that way. |

Would someone help me out here and please define "win" as it applies to the exhaust testing. |

The winner is the one that I like best based on the results of the "Shootout" compared to, my wants, and my riding style. I am looking for drivability, a flat torque curve, smooth power delivery, and not too loud. All other opinions don't count. |

Win is the pipe that makes the best power, best torque curve, lowest cost, and looks the best. So in other words the Dean Adams pipes |

When is Dean Adams going to make his pipe titanium? |

I am looking for drivability, a flat torque curve, smooth power delivery, and not too loud. You just described the stock pipe Just yanking yer chain... I think the winner will be different for everyone. |

I'm sorry to announce this, but it needs done now. I will, in all likelyhood, never produce a titanium exhaust system. It's too expensive to do them, I do not have an enclosed chamber at home to weld them up in. That said, I'll be starting on one next week. I'm KIDDING! |
