I washed my bike before heading out drove about 50 miles, went WOT to pass a car and the bike instatly lost power and sounds like its runnin on 1 cylinder. Pulled over and checked my ecm for water, disconected the battery let it sit and still only fires on 1 cylinder. I'm stuck on the side of the rode posting this so HELP.. got my dad coming with a trailer but would like some pointers. Bikei is an 08 has 6k miles, d&d, k&n and a Erik Buell Racing pumpgas race ecu which I've had for about 2k miles with no issues. |

I would check for water on your plug coils ontop of the cylinder head. Water could short them to the valve covers. |

Just got it back home, still only fireing on 1 cylinder I checked Diag mode and says no codes. I guess I'm first gonna try my stock ecu since that's simple before I start ripping it down. And Froggy feel free to help me out or come give me pointers. I do have the service manual and tools but might end up bringing to HD in danbury if I fail. Just sucks my warrenty is over too but this should not be happening at 6k miles! |

Fouled plug? Try this:
quote:SPARK PLUG CLEANING PROCEDURE 2008 XB and 1125R - has the ability to clear residual fuel from the combustion chamber if a flooded engine or fouled spark plugs are suspected. This is achieved by opening the throttle to wide open, setting the Run/Stop switch to Run then, turning the ignition switch ON. This will fire the spark plugs for approximately 4 seconds, burning any fuel left over in the combustion chamber. It may be necessary to repeat this procedure several times to allow a severely flooded engine to start. NOTE: Motorcycle should be in Neutral.

Iv had to use this on one of the sale bikes that got started and shut down all the time it works great coolest thing ever. However I didn't know that the XB's had it to I thought it was just the 1125s |

All DDFI 3 bikes use the same ECM, they all share many features like that. |
