Tomorrow I go to the dealership to have them look at my bike for the TT396 update (draining battery due to gauge cluster software). My question is, should I take off my Erik Buell Racing ECM and put the stock ECM back on the bike?

My bike still has the 05z flash and not the 062 flash. I dont want them to flash my Erik Buell Racing tune with the 062 flash.

What should I do?!

i would swap it, it takes ten minutes, if the dealer catches you with an aftermarket ecm they might try to mess with the warranty.

Is there any compelling reason NOT to have a stock ECM with the newest flash?

True. If they want want to update the stock ecm they can. I just switched the ecm back to stock.

Good move switching it. So easy to do it's just not worth the risks. Might as well have them upgrade your stock unit to the latest flash while it's there ...

Sorry, i may come off as a jackass for saying this.... but....... did you really need to ask this question?

It seems obvious to me that the RACE ONLY stamped on the side of the ECM might imply just that... and race parts normally void any warranty work...

just saying... : D
Yes remove the Erik Buell Racing-ECM.... it would be the wiser decision given your choices..

It would be a bummer to get the race ecm loaded with a stock map if they flashed the bike while it was in the shop. Not sure if the dealer could do that for sure or if the ecm is locked.
