It's hard to explain a noise, so the best I can do is say it sounds like a dry shaft. Bike makes a "moaning" sound at low speed off throttle in first and second gear, as in starting bike, taking off and then slowing for traffic or slow series of turns leaving a condo complex. This is not a whiring, click, clack or ticking sound. Anyone else heard this on their bike? Seems to go away after warming up but will start if in traffic and low speed. Talked to service tech and working on what causes this so the tech can repeat the noise. My best guess is a dry shaft or bearing in tranny or output shaft. |

Jeeplite, I think what you are hearing is pretty normal - mine does it too. Believe it's been brought up on here several times but if I recall it's either your belt rubbing the belt guard, the straight cut gears making normal noise, or it perhaps the the belt idler pulley/belt harmonics. No worries. |

Good to hear it's not just mine making noise. I have noticed that the belt that was running about 1/8" from the pulley on the rear is now about 1/16" and now flush with the outside of pulley with a slight taper. Must be from trying to run straight on the output pulley. I will put my 2 cents in for the Erik Buell Racing ECM and a Barker pipe, this is a great combo! I got o2's on,1200 rpm idle when warmed up and free flowing pipe, no popping on decel and low speed bucking greatly reduced. It took a while for ECM to learn as at first I had to crank it a couple times to start. I have been able to stay ahead of the recall's an avoid the long wait for parts. So far have new instrument cluster, new clutch pack and Cal evap can, all provided by HD. I had bought the frame insulation and HD paid for the install. When parts were on back order for the clutch pack my parts guy found one at another dealer and had it shipped. Props to Cowboy HD and my tech Eric. |

My bike makes the noise as well, rolling off the gas in first gear or second about 2800 rpm. First I was told it was a bad wheel bearing and the problem was fixed lol that didnt fix a thing. I have been riding it ever since waiting for something to break I have the 7yr factory warnt. |
