One rainy day in the garage. I take a Saron y-pipe and a Termignoni carbon muffler, which I bought from e*ay in last winter. I modified the y-pipe to get more ground clearence. Then I opened the Termi muffler and opened the inlet flange from 2" to 2 1/2". Then I made a stainless conical core in the muffler. Repac the muffler and made a connection pipe between the muffler and the y-pipe. I Have not tested it yet, because I was out of a right size pop rivets and my off duty time ends. Pic of the "hybrid":

Just a thought but CF has a limited ability to handle prolonged high heat. That short of pipe is not giving the gases any chance to leak off much heat. I recall a few threads on the FMF CF can splitting from what appears to be overheating. Aside from that looks really interesting. |
