I have done pretty much exactly the same thing. One tip: I like to use a turkey baster marked at the fork oil height. Then I overfill a little and use the baster to suck it out to the correct height. ac | ||

How much pressure is the spring under when you first unscrew the top? I am trying to understand how you got from the first step to the strap without the thing flying through the air. Thanks for the tutorial! | ||

I had some tubing and a few large syringes so I made a tool for Ray, the guy that gave me my Drummer. Pretty simple, scored 1/2" marks down the brass tube and a special mark for the 1125. Removing the fork cap from the tube does not release the spring. It only releases the fork tube. In fact, you can remove the original cartrIdge as one piece without compressing the spring. Loosen the fork cap and the retaining bolt at the bottom of the fork and it will come out as one piece. You still need to compress the spring to install the new one. | ||
