My bike before the 1125 was a sportster, and i have a basic hjc cl-15 helmet. I was driving the 1125 this morning, and i noticed that my helmet was getting so much force on it that it was getting sucked into my face, and my nose was touching the shield. Anybody know of a good helmet that will work on an 1125? my price range is about $180. I was looking at these: http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/1/1/38/21464/ ITEM/Icon-Alliance-SSR-Tyranny-Helmet.aspx http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/1/1/38/24996/ ITEM/HJC-CL-16-Carnage-Helmet.aspx http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/1/1/38/17068/ ITEM/AFX-FX-90-Skull-Helmet.aspx http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/1/1/38/11762/ ITEM/Nolan-N84-Cosmo-N-Com-Helmet.aspx http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/1/1/38/25387/ ITEM/Scorpion-EXO-400-Skull-Bucket-Helmet.aspx |

the one that fits. try your local cycle gear to see what your head shape is (arai has their helmet line advertized and broken down into shapes) and webikeworld reviews to find one in your budget. |

+1 for Nillaice...get the one that fits you best. Folks can (and will) recommend specific lids to you all day long ("this one's best, no this one is...etc) but the one that's best for you is the one that fits your noggin correctly. Cycle Gears usually have a good selection. Try a few on for at least 10-15 minutes, mess with all the vents and other features. Once you find the one you like best, see if you can find it online cheaper! |

I have a HJC FS 15 black carbon fiber and like it alot. I'd check out sportbiketrackgear.com. They have a really good selection and pricing. They have some really amazing pricing on Scorpion helmets. The staff all ride/race and you can phone them and ask them questions about their products. They also have video reviews for most of their products which help out alot. |

Like the other guys say "the one that fits." I have worn AFX helmets for the last 6 years. Currently I have this one. http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/1/1/38/2361/I TEM/AFX-FX-30-Skull-Helmet.aspx I am happy with it. So I recommend the AFX brand. |

The Scorpion Helmets look really good and the pricing even better. I have two Scorpion jackets, an All In, and a Stinger and love them both. The quality is amazing. If the quality is the same for the helmets and as long as they fit you you can't go wrong. |

Helmets are one thing NOT to buy online unless its a replacement for exactly the same model. Its got to fit correctly, but you know that as your old helmet is lose around the lower part. Go to your local Bike store and check them out, tell them you want to test "ride" or its no sale! I'm guessing You might need tighter cheek pads to prevent the sliding back. Over tightening the strap won't fix the problem you have. Its not about the make, its about the fit! |

For some years now I have been using the UVEX fullface full carbon helmet. At 2.1 lbs (950 grammes)it is an amazing experience not to have the feeling of having anything on one's head. And no neck ache ever. I have i plus a spare for me and 1 + a spare for my passenger. She does not even know what a normal helmet is like. She carried a friend's helmet recently and could not believe how 'heavy' it was. |

For your price range, the Scorpion EXO 700 is a great deal...I have two of them and paid lestt than $150. The deals are out there. My head's a Shoei medium...The medium Scorpion fits |

I will say that 'get one that fits' is true ONLY if you know what a correct fit is! The Arai seller at the Cycle World shows says that at least half of the people who show up are wearing a helmet 1 size too big...some even 2 sizes too big. The fact your helmet is pushing up against your nose indicates it has shite cheek pads or you bought it too big. A new helmet will feel real snug until it breaks in a little. Not all helmets will fit your head shape. My best Arai took awhile to feel real comfortable, but it is GREAT now. |

Go to a dealer of the helmets you are interested in and try them all on. Make sure they fit properly and get advice. Wear the one you decide on for a while before leaving. The most comfortable one for me was the Shoei RF1100. I'm used to cruiser helmets and this one fits better than any helmet I've worn. |

+1 on Scorpion Exo700s. If you can try one on and see how it fits, etc, I'd recommend that helmet. You can get 'em for cheap off the 'net. |

+1 to all those stating the one that fits. +2 to sportbiketrackgear.com - awesome deals Personally, I've had many helmets. The two I've used on the 1125R are the Scorpion Exo-700 and the Icon domain. Scorpion was much better than any other helmet I had prior to buying it. Then I got a awesome deal on the Icon domain(depending on your size you can find them for 106-140, they were originally 390.00.) The Icon FITS much better, but has a higher tendency to make your head shake at higher speeds. If you are looking to get a scorpion from what people have said, I'd buck up and get the 1000 model(Right now it's $289.00 for a solid color - 309.00 with graphics) as it is much better in comfort and overall fit plus it has a drop-down tinted visor built in to the helmet (Almost bought one at the Cleveland IMS show and if I didn't just buy a helmet 3 booths prior I would have.) |

Not looking to start a war, but frankly, none of them. I like a topper notch helmet. I understand how not all have it in their budge. However, I believe it to be the utmost importance and there are deals out there. For example, I think this helmet is the best deal I’ve seen on the internet for some time, provided it fits you right (like every one else has said): Bell – Star http://www.motorcyclecloseouts.com/hot+deals/special+promotions2/bell_star+ace+of+clubs+helmet Keep in mind that this link is from the 1st year of production, where the fitment ran big. It’s likely you’re going to need to order one size smaller than you've worn in the past. (Message edited by arcticcr on April 26, 2010) |

As far as bang for your buck I would diffidently go with the Scorpion I had one and loved it loaded with features super easy visor swap and on and on. I did get a bit of lift at high speeds but then again I was on my old XB12Scg at the time so I can see the 25 being much different. I almost bought a EXO 1000 but I got this one instead and I don't regret it one bit. awesome lid http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/1/1/38/2704/I TEM/Suomy-Vandal-Pin-Up-Helmet.aspx |

I tried on probably 10 different helmets before settling on the AGV Stealth that was being sold by Buell. Even under AGV though there are probably 10 different models, each with different sizes. Just go to the best motorcycle shop in town and try on everything they have until you find a favorite. Buy it from them, don't go home and order it from someone online. They let you try their stuff on, support the local shops where you can. |

A good fit puffs up your cheeks and does NOT move when you whip your head left, right, left. |

I have owned HJC and Fulmer helmets, due to price and good results from that "Blowing the Lid Off" test a few years ago. After trying on dozens of helmets and settling on a Shoei RF-1000 this year, I can say I will never go back to a cheap helmet again. The amount you spend really does make a difference in the quality of the helmet. In all my window shopping I tried on Scorpion, Icon, HJC, Sparx and more. The best quality, best fitting and most comfortable were always the Arai's and the Shoei's. That's just my opinion. YMMV. |

I went with a Scorpion EXO-400 and 700, both are great helmets and I love how quick and easy it is to change visors. |

The Icons Alliance speedfreak is what I have, and I love it. I don't have a lot of lift or anything like that. Actually, I can't remember having any lift on it. It has good air flow, fits very well. Very reasonable price, and I'm not a person to usually skip on quality over price, it is a very good quality helmet. If it can meet DOT and ECE safety specs, it's gotta be safe enough for my head. Note: I would say there some head shake at high speeds. I'm talking like 115+. (Message edited by motorhead102482 on April 27, 2010) |
