I have one of these in progress, thought I'd show some different tip options and tubing sizes. 2.5" pipe just for reference, its huge.
2" pipe, straight square cut.
1.75" radius tube, uncut.

That's pretty nice. Are you selling that service with a core charge or something? |

http://www.keda-design.com/shop/article_2/MT-Type- 1-Modified-Stock-Exhaust.html?shop_param=cid%3D1%2 6aid%3D2%26 Currently just doing each customer's as it comes in. I have one spare, but it's dented in a couple of places. I'll try getting the dents out, but I don't know if I can. One is more of a crease than a dent. |

Painted, needs to dry, I'll do one more coat tonight and then it's off to sunny Florida.

D_Adams, I'll sell you my stock can, just make me an offer and we'll see about the shipping. So you can ship the finished pipe out as soon as you get the core pipe. Little faster turn around time. I took off of my 08 to put on a HPE race pipe. It has no damage, and it has about 700 miles through it. Again, lets me know. MrRickbo (Message edited by mrrickbo on April 26, 2010) |

Dean, Do you have to cut the window in the can to cut off the old tips? |

Dosmie -- only if you want more thump over stock. If it's just a tip job (MT-2) then no it won't need cut open. If you just want the exhaust pointed away from the wheel/swingarm/brake, it's cheaper to do that. I can re-use the original tips if you don't want any sound changes and keep as close to the stock look as possible. |

Pretty or not, it's a heck of a lot quieter than anything else on the market other than the stock pipe itself. It's time consuming to do it right, but if you like the stock look and want just a little more noise, this is definitely one way to go. I did this one a little bit differently, the internal tube is much shorter, but it's welded to the 2nd plate in to seal it better. Same performance, more thump, close to the stock look and also gets the exhaust off the wheel/brake area. Not exactly a cheap mod, but it does sound pretty good. I also shoot it with 1200 degree paint before it goes out. |

It boggles my mind that they did not turn out the tips on the OEM part. Paint looks very nice and of course your mod makes perfect sense. The OEM can is just such a lump...it could win an award for all time wierdest looking muffler on a bike. Keep up the great work! |

D_adams, Will this be what you will do to mine for the internal mods? (Same performance, more thump) I still want the turned out tips curved like the original but tipped down a few degs. Mike Long Island, NY 09 1125CR Black/White 09 XB12X Red/Black 06 VRSCR Blue/Silver

Froggy, I have the dealer looking for a Blue rear 2010 rim for me. Also sent an email to EBR and they are looking for one for me also. I will let you know when I find out if they can get one for me. If not I will have to use the one I have. I will take care of the shipping costs ether in a credit or pay you. What bike would you put it on? The CR or the R? Yes, it's the same mod. I remove the 2 smaller tubes inside, grind out the holes to fit the 1.75" tube, fit a short connector tube inside to seal the rear chamber and then add whatever tip you want. I can re-use the original shell if you want, it's stainless, although it's not as large as what I use normally. On the original mod, I stuffed the tubing down into the 2nd chamber a few inches, but as long as the 1st chamber is sealed off, there's no real performance hit and it makes it easier to do different style tips this way. |

D adams, Looks great, I was looking at the picture and thought, why not just do away with the tips and do a side exit. (something like, see picture) The thought being make the slot equal to your pipe diameters, then weld shut and dress up the old tips end. I am not an engineer so the idea may have some serious flaws in it, penny for your thoughts on it though... V/R, Nick
