All 1125 models are 5.3 gallons, realistically being about 5.2 usable due to the fuel pump hogging some space. I've filled up as much as 5.1 gallons while on the side stand, and I could get more if I had it upright, but I don't do that due to it making it harder to have consistent fuel economy readings. well, for what its worth, I've always wondered how long i could run the fuel light for... seems when it comes on im usually putting 4.1 gallons in- also usually average about 5 miles running on the light (i love how it keeps track of that for me!) so judging by your numbers i should be able to get up to 20 miles on the light... OR if my tank has 5.2 useable as stated, i could prolly squeeze 35 out of it... guess theres only one way to find out! LOL |

Good day Gentlemen. I have ran-out fuel twice, do to the time of day ( late at night). Like Hildreth said you will get about 20 miles on the light, but not much more. |

Fuel light should be coming on on at about 4.5 gallons used, and depending on your riding style you will get between 10 and 40 miles before your walking. |

My fuel light has been coming on steady at about 125 miles. Seems kinda low for a 5.3 gal tank. That isn't hard riding. I am still in break-in, so I am not exactly wringing it's neck. What kind of mileage are you all seeing when the light comes on and under what kind of riding conditions? |

190-200 miles before the light, not riding hard, 160-180 riding hard, and about 230 miles before the light comes on if I am hypermiling. |

Froggy, you'd better let us all know your fuel mileage secrets - I'm lucky to get to 140 before the fuel light comes on - but that's commuting. |

142 miles today when the light came on, tough to see it in daylight with sun. I fill it about the same every time, only 4 fills so far, I stop when the pump stops, I don't top it off, 4.2 gallons. Around 33mpg, I have 540 miles on it, 2008 R with a 2010 motor, I am doing the first oil change this week. |

i wonder why these are so inconsistent could it be all in the filling technique? just to be clear i leave it on the side stand and fill to the lower ring as i had liquid fuel spill out after filling over that point before |

I fill mine upright sitting on the bike, I said previously to the gas cap but actually right below the cap. As full as I can get it. So yeah I could squeeze 5 gal if I went further than 12 miles past the light. |

With my mileage at fill up and the amount I put in. that gives me roughly 27 miles to the gallon. Thought it would be higher than that. That doesn't include the fuel that might have been left in the frame, yes I said frame, lol. So 30 miles to the gallon would about right |

At 32,000 s'mles even w/ TM, I get 145 miles with 3.7 gal. I have run 20 miles after the fuel light comes on. FWIW, after 2,500-3,500 miles you will see improvement in MPG. |
