Great site guys. I bought my 1125r in Dec and am loving it. I've started riding with a big group in Houston, alot of which host and ride track days around the area. I want to take the 1125 on the track and have fun, but I'm a little nervous about being able to get parts if I happen to bail. I'm not so much nervous about bailing or anything like that, I am just concerned about being able to get the replacement body parts IF I bail. I want to get this thing on the track (Thats what Erik wanted, right?!), but I want to know I can get it back together if something were to happen. Thanks in advance! |

If you think you are going to bail, dont hit the track. IF its in your head that you are or maybe will bin it you are not in the right mind set. Take the bike out ride it like you stole it & enjoy, life is to short to worry. If we all did none of us would go to the track to enjoy.. |

Alternatively you could just buy a spare set of bodywork now either a pristine set that you can keep "just in case" or a battered, cheaper set that you can fit for track days. Parts are still available (with a bit of a delay sometimes) and there is bodywork on eBay all the time (or new from an aftermarket specialist). I'm slowly building up a complete set of spare bodywork as it appears at the right price on ebay so I can get my current set painted (Message edited by jules on April 09, 2010) |

I took my new 1125R to a trackday a few weeks after I bought it. Couldn't ride as good as I thought I would. Tried to stay with a few fast guys in a turn and ended up low-siding. Instant track bike. I feel the 1125 is safer, for me!, on the track. But then I also have an alternative street bike. If I lived in Texas I'd be talking to folks like jdugger about it. I think he lives near Dallas, is a great guy and major information resource. |

(Thanks Doug!) Put her on the track! I low sided in a really tight left hander a couple of weeks ago on my '09, and the extent of the damage was about $500 in parts to make her showroom perfect. This, despite crashing at 60+ MPH (lost the front) and sliding a GOOD 70+ ft down and across the track! The 1125r crashes really well, honestly. Plus, there's really no other environment like the track. No cops, no oncoming traffic. When you just gotta get your speed on, it's the place to do it. Save your "6-7 tenths" pace for a trip to Arkansas. I know one of the instructors for Lone Star Track Days that lives near Houston. If you PM me, I'll make the connection for you. Nice guy, great instructor. (Message edited by jdugger on April 09, 2010) |

Vxmine, the large group you're referring to -- is it Motohouston? I'm up in College Station. Lived in Cypress for a while about 10 years ago. Glad to see an other somewhat local badwebber. --Kevin |

Body parts are relativity cheap ($600 for a full set brand new), and available (usually a 1 month lead time). Shit happens, but don't ride outside your limits. |

Finding scratched up body parts are EASY on ebay. And super cheap. Get a dinged up set for a track day and keep your pristine ones safe. Will be less than a good set that ends up scratched up. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Buell-1125-1125R-11 25CR-REAR-FRAME-COVER_W0QQitemZ130381306929QQcmdZV iewItemQQptZMotorcycles_Parts_Accessories?hash=ite m1e5b54dc31#ht_5097wt_1711 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ewItem&item=250612059531&viewitem=&_trkparms=algo% 3DLVI%26its%3DI%26otn%3D2&category=35560#ht_500wt_ 918 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BUELL-1125R-1125-FR ONT-UPPER-FAIRING-COVER-PANEL_W0QQitemZ29040683140 6QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotorcycles_Parts_Accessories? hash=item439d98952e#ht_1508wt_903 |

You could always go for a set of racing body work from catalyst composits and keep your factory stuff in the garage. Otherwise, dealers will be able to get any new factory bodywork you need. |

Torquaholic: Yep, motohouston and highperformancecrew.com. I go back and fourth. Great group with really good riders. Kicka666: I agree completely. I just want to be financially prepared "just in case" Jdugger: Thanks for the offer. I plan on attending the RS track day in May. Thanks for the replies everyone. Since this is a hobby, I want to be financially prepared. |
