I got a call from my dealer today. They had changed out the wiring harness, but when they took the bike out for a test ride, it was intermittently running on one cylinder. They even restored the old harness and it was still running badly. On the way there last week it was running like a champ. I was told they thought it was the crank sensor and had another on order. Has anyone had a similar problem, or have I discovered something new? |

Sounds like your dealer messed something up. |

I haven't seen whats involved with the harness install, but perhaps they knocked a plug wire loose? Let us know what they figured out. |

Almost impossible to "knock a plug wire loose"...unless they rip a primary wire out of the connector plug on top of the stick coil. But on the other hand...they could have knocked/ripped something loose. Another good reason my CR is staying as is... Mike |

I am pretty sure the procedure requires adding pins to a connector...maybe they botched that up? Mike, I am pretty sure your stator WILL fail if you don't get the harness, although I do share your WARRANTED concern with letting someone else touch your bike! ac |

I am pretty sure the procedure requires adding pins to a connector...maybe they botched that up? There is one wire that fits in the top ecu plug (ground from relay) when it is fitted the plug lock has to be released so it is possible another wire from this plug may have popped out. |

I concur with Avc. It will fail the question is when. If I had to guess 4,000 to 5,000 miles. |
