This is my first post so I figured I may as well make it informative. I started "playing" around with my 1125CR before my first ride and have continued in the couple of weeks since. I normally do this on all my bikes. For example, my Sportster has no front fender, mirrors, t-signals, horn, gauges, and a few other things plus a short rear fender, single seat, etc. On the Buell I didn't want to go nearly as radical to keep it as close to street legal as possible. So far I've lost slightly under 9 lbs. Please post your actual weight loss from any mods you've done. My future plans include an exhaust system swap and possibly new l-ion battery. Weight loss so far: Rear Pegs + Brackets: Left Passenger Footpeg Bracket and 2 bolts: 1lb 8.5 oz Right Passenger Footpeg Bracket and 2 bolts: 1lb 9.7 oz Upper Belt Guard, Left Side: 4.6 oz Rear Fender Eliminator: Upper Rear Fender + Reflector: 12.8 oz Lower Rear Fender + Tail Light: 8.2 oz Rear side reflectors (2) + 6 bolts: 5 oz Net weight loss of rear fender eliminator kit: 1lb 2.3oz (taking into account additional 7.7oz for new bracket) DeNoid: Solenoid + cable + bracket + bolt + bolt retainer = 1lb 13.5oz added: Buell resistor ~.1oz Total denoid loss 1lb 13.4oz. Tools: 10.1 oz lost: Moved some of the tools from the tool kit to my tool box: Spanner, Nuts+circlip, long allen, 4-in-1 screwdriver, tube w/flat end Kept: fuses, 30 torx, allen, 10mm/20mm tool Passenger Seat Removal: 1lb 13.3oz lost from seat, <.1oz velcro added: Removed passenger seat by using velcro on cowl (have not speed tested yet) Weight gain so far: Jardine Rear Fender Eliminator Bracket: 7.7oz Solenoid Resistor ~.1oz Velcro <.1oz Net total added (rear fender eliminator + 'noid resistor + cowl velcro): <7.9oz Net total weight lost 8lb 13.8oz. |

If you wear a wife-beater, shorts, and flip flops when you ride you could save a lot of weight. just playing |

I just figured if I took a big BM before each ride I could wear my jeans and gym shoes instead of the shorts and sandles. The wife-beater stays though so I can say 'you talkin' to me?' 'I know yer not talkin' to me,...cuz it looks like you talkin' to me!' |

haven't dropped any weight from my r yet; well actually added a pound or two with the hid's, but total weight is 460 lbs with about three gal of fuel on a certified scale. a little heavier than i would of expected as it feels quite light tossing it around. |

Speaking of rabbit food, I don't get how the hell mine is so fat from eating a ton of green and orange crap. |

I can take a good dump and loose more weight than that! A less than full tank would save more than that. Sam |

Battery and exhaust are the lowest priced per pound diets you can put the bike on. After that you start getting into expensive solutions like wheels, fasteners, radiator system, subframe and so on. Shedding all the street gear doesn't loose as much as you might think. The OEM lights, blinkers, etc, aren't as heavy as one might expect. |

I stripped off pretty much the same gear but have not weeded out any tools yet. The HMF was considerably lighter than the stock, but I failed to weigh and calculate the difference. All of that and I still weigh in at 250 without my riding apparel. What a joke. I need to lose some damn weight. The bike is skinny enough. |

Illbuell, 9lbs might not make much of a difference but when I do the exhaust and battery I'm sure I will notice a difference. I figure about 25 lbs will be lost by that point. That's about a 5-6% difference. I know on my Sporty I've lost about 8% or so and I notice it when I get on a stock Sporty to compare. Bobbuell1961, my stock Sporty speedo wouldn't show my speed over 120 so why bother? As long as I know what gear I'm in I can guestimate how fast I'm going at legal speeds. I have my left arm for my turn-signal, I turn my head for my mirror, and I have my finger to replace the horn, I'm all set although it does suck riding in the rain w/o a front fender - I have to lean sideways. |

Do you really have rabbits or am I just totally missing the point? If you do have rabbits, I can tell you how to get them to normal weight and be much healthier for a fraction of what you pay for food. |

That pancake looks tasty! Why is it on her head? Add one more with some butter and some bacon in the middle... Yummmmmmy! My bosses rabbit is the size of a horse! And it's not fat. Lets see... With the burnout I did yesterday for the guys at work and the brake pad material gone from all the stoppies I do, and the clutch leaking fluid ... I think I lost a bit-o-weight. Plus I only weight 160. |
