FINALLY picked up my 1125R from Long Island City yesterday. I haven't ridden it all winter since it was laid up awaiting parts. Figures I'd get it back the first day of Spring.

I've been riding the K1200LT all along so I'd forgotten the "feel" of the 1125R. All of the way home I'm swearing and cursing at the drivers on the L.I.E. for driving so damned SLOW.

Then I looked down at my speedometer... 86mph! WHOOPS!!! I'm going to have to recalibrate my "internal speedo" to this bike again. I'd forgotten how effortlessly it gets up to warp speed, and how easily and comfortably it stays there...

I know what you mean.

Imagine how I feel. Since I was 16 (23 now) I drove a semi-sporty 215hp AWD Turbo car... still not a bike though.

I just got an 1125cr a couple weeks ago as my first bike. Took me a couple days to get comfortable enough to go WOT but I eventually did in second gear. Tire came up fast so I shut it down... ok, try again in fourth gear at about 40mph.

I had never felt anywhere close to that much acceleration before. I think to myself after only a few moments, "Ok, that's about enough!"... I look down and I am doing over 120. 120 in a moments notice with a too high gearing to start out... bike is insane.

I knew motorcycles were fast. Especially superbikes like the 1125. I did the calculations before I got the bike and thought I had a reasonable assumption of the acceleration, but nothing can prepare you for that...

JAIMEC - 720 miles now on my CR. thirteen years with an S1 and I have to admit I was not prepared for how easy the speed comes to these bikes. I have had a few "WHOOPS" moments as well myself.

SINJHIN - "In a moments notice" says it all.

This weekend I found a stretch of almost straight road where I could try some WOT pulls in 5th and 6th. Hoo boy. I catch a lot of wind but still touched 151 before letting off. Not sure if I will ever see the far side of 160, but 150 is still a memorable experience. Bike was still pulling strong but I was running out of road. Straight roads come at a premium here in the mountains : D

My X-1 feels like a plowhorse afterwards.

Now imagine using all the acceleration coming out of a turn on a track. Nothing like it. You can be doing 40 in a tight turn and then in an instant be up to 90 with no problem or waiting for a powerband if you happen to be in the wrong gear.

Going on the track for the second time on Saturday....can't wait!!

Drawkward, I remember seeing that you're from Houston. Do you go to Texas Motor Speedway? How much does it cost to get some track experience?

Texas Motor Speedway is in Fort Worth, about 5 hours north of Houston. I've never seen motorcycles there but have taken my old Camaro around it before.

Do you mean Texas World Speedway?

Anyone notice in 2nd or 3rd from 4-5,000 at WOT that the speedo counts by 10's (40, 50, 60, 70, 80 and finally starts incrementing by single digits). THat is acceleration!

Time2Ride home, later all
Neil S.

31,660 miles as of this AM on my 1125rt.

Jr, TWS has a bunch of track days this year with a couple different orgs. I usually stay in the houston area at GrandSport Speedway with Groove Union Motorcycle School.

However, Ridesmart and Lonestar Trackdays both do track days there.

Here's a link to almost all of the track days that are happening in the Houston/Dallas area.
