All,

I know they tell you they are not very pretty, because they have the seeming "unfinished" look, but this is what I did. I painted them with 3-4 coats of UV protection (outdoor) clear, making sure to get the edges to seal them off. You don't get that plastic look like some carbon, you get shiny tough as nails look, and they look GREAT!!!

UV protection is a great idea.

I've got em on my CR. Been wondering about a coating. Though I'm concerned about integrity of Kevlar when introduced to foreign chemicals(let alone weathering), I hope the kevlar is inside the resin for the fiber process. It looked like it on close inspection, and after I dremel-ed a set. I worked with kevlar entirely to much 10 years ago to find it degradation point, and how to wear the crap out of it.

I want close-up pics of your finishing though.
