Well, it happened. This morning, pulling out of the driveway with a not completely warm motor, I rolled off of the sloped curb and popped my newly moved clutch lever killing the motor. Not a big deal except I was being sloppy on how I rolled off of the curb. THe engine died and my left foot was too far from the ground to catch me. So, me and the bike landed on our butts next to the sidewalk. Embarrassing for a newbie. Shameful on someone who has been riding as long as I have. The important part though is that embarrassment is usually temporary and goes away when you laugh at it, scratched parts don't. The checking the bike for damage, the only scratches were a slight scuff on the left pod and a good gouge out of my DarkHorseMoto EcoSlider on the swingarm. Without the slider, I gould have a very similar gouge out of the end of my swingarm. So, thanks Skully and DHM. You made my day. |
