Not trying to throw anything to Blake, but when someone calls me a liar I take offense. While his words may not have specifically said liar calling into question my motives is pretty much the same in my book. If I am in error and am simply misinterpreting his POV then that's cool, I tried explaining my side in a civil manner, he repeated his opinion, to which he is entitled. No offense taken, thank you all

Eece_ret, I can assure you that Blake isn't 13 years old, as he is the founder of Badweb and started it approx 12 years ago ; )

From his (and others) prospective, you show up out of the blue, you are new and nobody knows you or your intentions with your posts. If you were trolling, you sure wouldn't have been the first to come here and do that.

I personally gave the benefit of the doubt, and gave my advise a few pages back.

Well,

Roger that. Mechanical and electrical problems can make anybody get upset.....especially when they are recurring.....believe me. I know. Relax. There are a lot of folks on this board who actually can do a lot to help you, Blake being one of them. Welcome to the board. You will be surprised at what the Badwebbers can do for you. You have to calm down though.

Lemon law rules allow 30 days for final repair after the complaint is filed. Sorry I wasn't clear on that.

No prob,

So, as I understand it, on the mechanical side, you have a coolant leak and a chipped rim. I understand wanting to throttle the dealer, but is that the extent of the problem or did I miss something? I did note an issue with the air box. Just asking.

Actually not even that bad... In the end all thats left is the water pump. Between the first dealership (rim) and Folsom (everything else) we got it resolved. The issue that is currently driving me up the wall is the unavailability of a kit to address a known issue in the wild, that coupled with customer service from corporate and the first dealership leaves me quite concerned regarding my investment.
HD corporate has simply been stirring up the anger with their attitude and inability to conform to their warranty....

I don't doubt that folks suffer problems or that some dealers are poor and that Buell owners become frustrated with being subject to problems and poor dealerships. It happens with all brands. I've not experienced it through four different Buell motorcycles, two still on duty. I have experienced it with a Yamaha. I got rid of it and bought a Buell. Twelve years later all is great.

The perception of trolling surfaces as a result of how one handles frustration, a newb who shows up calling others "liars" for instance and spouting all kinds of troubles, sounding outlandish. If you want your problems solves, fine, then have at it. I'm not seeing that. I smell big fat hairy stinking troll. I could be wrong.

What you're going through is bad, but consider those of us who purchased the bike at full retail long in advance of the shutdown now in the same boat.
The purchase price of my 1125R was over $13,000.
Granted, I have thoroughly enjoyed it for almost 44,000 miles now, but it has been in the shop at least 3 months of its life for warranty issues.
My warranty expires in April; I am very concerned for the future.

I would have pushed my 1125 in to a canal and collected insurance money if I paid anywhere near full price for it.

adrenaline withdrawl (AW) can be very intense. the excitement of a perfectly new bike disrupted by a non productive service experience on note worthy issues?

I could go on and on about my first three front pulleys. bought my 96s1 in the spring 97. 3K later the front pulley lost its splines. Dealer told me I was racing the bike too hard. Another 3K later the front pulley lost its splines again. Dealer again. third time I took it to an independent HD shop and they fixed it. All HD OEM parts every time.

Labor was and is the key variable. HD got two tries and two bad results. The indy job has lasted for over 80Kmi.

My riding it too hard, pure BS. I have only ridden harder over the years as the s1 suspension evolved from stock to 1.0 front springs and GP suspension valving F&R and a 2 clicker penske in back.

How does a cloth/rubber belt remove the splines from a metal pulley?

Chamelon: Um yeah, seriously. Pretty much the definition of taking one on the chin. sorry : (

Mikezx9: Um wouldn't go that far. Its the company not the bike.

Fresno: I bought the Buell cause I wanted a V-Twin, the IL's had kinda become too much of the same.

If they were worth anything, Im sure some people would sell the bike and get something else. Im happy with my bike now. Im not happy that I had to invest time and money just to make it run properly. My point was the 1125 has more problems than should be expected out of a $12-13k bike.

I guess some of it comes back to what your expectations were before purchasing the bike.. I was fully expecing some bugs and issues having owned a few "unusual" bikes in the past (including Buells). So for me none of the issues have been particularly unexpected.

I suspect if I'd only ever had "mainstream" bikes before I'd have been surprised by the number of problems in a production model.

My Ducati 916 was worse though and my JMC Gixxer was just dreadful, in comparison the 1125 is a huge step forward : )

I suspect that with the huge discounts on offer a lot of people who would never have considered a Buell in th epast have bought them, and their expectations are different from those who have had experience of niche manufactureres in the past..

That, Im sure, has a lot to do with it. Ive always owned mainstream bikes and didnt imagine having some of the problems that I do.

Research was part of the issue. I used this forum to research and never took in to account exactly how biased this place would be. When you read threads about the bikes being awesome and great quality, you tend to believe it since its real world useage. Without reading this forum for a while, you dont realize the threads of people being unhappy that get buried.

I can say Ive never purchased a new vehicle and experienced problems like this. Ive never actually had to invest money in a new vehicle to make it run right.

Yeah - I feel for you. I remember my first "niche" bike. I wondered what the hell I'd been thinking at the time.

Since then most of my bikes have been "unusual" and I can't see myself going back to just having something anyone else can buy and ride (although I always have one in the garage "just in case").

I guess you need to figure out if it's something you want to persever with, TBH now that you've invested your time and money you might find that in 6 months, having had another summer to enjoy the bike you'll be glad you kept it.

If you're like me you'd have spent that money on a I4 anyway (I always change the pipes, add a PC and mod the bike irrespective of manufacturer) - the only difference is that would have been "your choice" rather than something you might feel you have been forced to do because of product deficiencies.

I daren't even think about how much I spend on customising/modifying a bike on top of the purchase price..I'd be too scared!

MIKEZX9... being i'm a newby to this world, and this is my first buell... i can agree this bike has its quirks. I was bummed that within in a 3 days of owning my 1125 that i had a pretty good oil leak...

it took over 1 month to resolve the issue but i guess i didn't mind since i'm out of the country every 2 weeks anyways... Once i got the bike back it has been a blast. i haven't run into most of the "so called common" issues 08 owners have, and other than my recent adventure into tuning, everything on the bike has been outstanding... I can see that if you did your modifications before the "latest" flash that ridability may have been poop. But they did come out with a newer flash and my bike had it, it was nice, hell its still nice when i put the stock ecm back in the bike.....

I guess my point is, that yea maybe your bike experienced some ridability issues, but Buell did send out a flash to resolve it. all the other items you added were things you wanted... not FIXES...the tune may have been a fix, but the pipe was not..the PC V was to compensate for the Pipe.... all those items you wanted...

I know guys on metric bikes that have had issues also when they tried to up performance or gain some sound.. thats not the bikes fault or the manufacturer...

I'm sure that if you had bought a off the shelf metric bike and added a pipe and K&N it would 9 times out of 10 need a tune also. which would mean a PC V or similiar product and a DYNO tune..... of course on the metric bike you would say those were mods... right?

Not picking a fight, just changing the angle of perspective a little..

I agree. Im trying to give the bike a chance. Living in South Florida, I can ride almost all year around, but we dont just go out on night rides cause it still is kind of cold.

Spending the money on the I4 bike is true to an extent. Ill put an exhaust on, but wouldnt bother with the PCV or air filter unless I had to. An I4 liter bike is already fast enough, not that the 1125r isnt fast either though.

I guess I see the bike as a toy that I just want to be able to get on and ride. Not something I want to have to fix or worry about whether or not its going to start.

Another thing I notice about these bikes are the owners. Not by actually meeting them, but from what I see on here. Most people are helpful, but some act like the bikes are perfect and there are no problems. If you fell otherwise about that, they tell you to sell your bike and leave. I dont know if its that they are in denial about the bikes not being perfect or they need to feel like they are perfect to justify their purchase. Hell, you even have the owner of the site calling people liars if they say they have a problem with the bikes. You have people trying to twist it around and blame the problem on the owner of the bike.

Syonyk;
Sorry to be giving such a bad presentation a bit more to help.

the front drive pulley mounts to the output shaft of the transmission. If you do not secure the pulley correctly it will eventually walk away from the output shaft. when this happens the output shaft begins to destroy the inner splines of the pulley.

Moral to story:
Find someone who can do the job properly and the same s*** won't happen again.

I see where youre coming from. Its hard to trust that the flash would fix anything when the bike left the factory running the way it did and was considered acceptable. The closest dealer to me is 60 miles away and they wanted me to drop the bike off with them. I havent run into any Jap bikes where putting on a slip on required a PC or any other kind of tuning. I wouldnt have bothered with the K&N, except that I already knew I needed a tune. I dont mod my bikes very much cause I want them to be reliable. The only mod on my zx9 is a Yosh slip on. I didnt need to touch the carbs to compensate for the slip on.

One thing I did do that fixed something was put the Cali Canister on the bike. Having a fuel leak is a problem that does need to be fixed.
