Has any one ran these, and are they worth it? http://www.compacc.com/b/Michelin.cfm |

The 2CT is a good street tire and at that price it's hard to turn down. The other models are OK, but I'd go with the 2 CT unless you are just highway cruising. |

about average "good deal" prices. I just picked up a set of Pilot Road 2's for $270 out the door (no tax or shipping cost). They are sitting in my closet right now waiting for my current Diablos to wear... which shouldn't take long. |

I've had a set of Pilot Road 2CTs on my 1125R for the last 10,500+ miles... The wet grip/performance is not as good as the two sets of Metzeler Z6 tires I had before, but I wanted to try something else. I've had a LOT of pucker moments when the traction is just not there when riding over wet surfaces. During one such occurrence I had my wife on the back and we nearly wrecked when the rear stepped out as we were cruising straight at about 38 mph on a 35 mph rural road which was off camber. The newer Z6 Interact tires should be even better than the regular Z6s. I plan to get a set for my next tires... Unfortunately it looks like it may be a while because there's still a good amount of tread left on these Michelin tires and the drier weather is coming. |

I just got a set of the pilot pures. I used to prefer the pilot power 2ct's but after trying these Im sold. Simply an awsome tire. |

Neufey, could you elaborate on the aspects that make the Pilot Pures an awesome tire? A compare and contrast against the Road 2CTs would be useful for those of us with firsthand experience on them. |

Not Neufey here but I can comment a little more about my new 2CTs. Have 400mi so far on them and my "turn in" lasted about one day. I tried tire pressure changes but still couln't get it back. The stock Corsas were very strong in this area until they got over 5000mi. With the 2CTs it has become more of a counter steering game and thats a bit sad. Strange thing is that I have no chicken strips with these tires where I had 1/2" with the Corsas. I have a theory about that but I'm not totally sure yet. Ok Fresno, you can jump in with your "Idiot" comment now. |

For starters, the Power Pure is a proper sportbike tire, with a soft carcass, great dry performance, and suitable for a track day. The Road 2CT is a touring tire, and isn't going to be suitable as the pace picks up. I've got a number of friends raving about the Road 2CT. When they come to the track, they are 20-40 seconds slower on the same 2.5 mile circuit, even though some are on much more powerful bikes. What's that tell you? |

I had read and started threads on this forum and other HD forums asking about the best tire for my riding style. I have an '08XB12S and an '091125-CR... anyway... on both bikes I have ran the stock Diablos, a Dunlop something, and a Michelen something. All rear tires across the board lasted from 4500~5500. 99.99999% of my riding is on the street and I ride alot (live in TX... 80 mile commute to work)... given this I was going thru a rear tire about every... ehhh... 3 months or so. It really turned into a huge inconvenience to make the shop errand and quite hard on the pocket book. Anyway... when I asked what tire I should get to best suit how i ride (pretty much strictly street) I'd say that nearly 80% of the people who chimed in recommended the Michelin Pilot Road 2's. I had a buddy who rode an R-6 with the PR2's. After like 1000 miles my Diablos would start table topping and his were 100% round (like new) after around 5000... and he is a burnout hooligan too He never experienced any difficulties with traction or what not. Sooo... I finally got a set in. I look forward to seeing how long they last. I'll send an update when I find out. |

What I like about the pures is the quick warm up time giving excellent tracktion in the cold weather. its hovering between 0 and 6 degrees C in the morning here and I can push it harder sooner than i could with the the diablos. I'm realy looking forward to the summer months to see how they stick in hotter weather. also i was pretty happy with the handeling of the power 2ct's, the pures have improved upon that. my comfort level on the bike in the corners has gone up with them in the wet and dry. Wet weather tracktion is far better than the cosra 3's I think and I find the bike a little quicker to turn in with them on as well IMO.Not to say I wouldnt say no to a pair of power 2cts if the the price was right but being the pures are only $40 more its money well spent. The only down side I can see is that ill probably have to replace them every 6000kms if they wear the same as the power 2cts did where as the corsa 3's lasted 9000kms. But Id rather spend the money and have a tire I trust to grip in all conditions over one that I dont. of coarse this is only my opion and Im sure theres lots of people that will disagree with it. I argue with friends over which tire is better all the time. It realy does come down to personnel prefferance. |

Duggar,, Oh Duggar,, I'm not seeing any "2CT" in any of the Pilot "Road" tire nomenclature. That 2CT appears to be a Pilot "Power" model designation,, yes, no? You know I worship You, now, be nice,,,, the "Road" series is listed as Sport Touring and the Power 2CT is Sport/Track. If I knew then what I know now I would have put a set of Corsa's right back on there. |

What's that tell you? That a street tire and a track focused tire are different? And if you're doing street riding, it's probably not a huge factor? |

Metal, I believe the new Pilot Road offers a dual compound, hence the 2CT. I wouldn't be surprised to find I got it wrong, but I know the new road is a 2 Compound Tire. Honestly, I really like the Corsa III. It oozes confidence as a tire on a track day or the street. It's really a nice choice for our bikes. I guess if you are commuting on your 1125r, something more "street" oriented makes sense, but for me and a track day or a good mountain ride, I'm going to lean to the more sporting tires. It's not fun having your buddies run off and leave you 'cause you break the rear end loose every time you are leaned over. |

I looked at it again and in the "Power" series the Power One and Power 2CT are dual compound,, the Pilot Power is not. And then the Pilot Road 2 is the only dual compound in that 3 tire series. |
