The RPM needle on my 09 1125CR shakes pretty bad over 5500RPMs. Around 8k+ its just blurry. Anyone else seen this?

Mine does it too. Supposedly, its "normal" for a Buell 1125r/cr

I think its the way the cluster is mounted to the faring stay.

If reach up an place my finger on the cluster housing my needle is solid as a rock.

To be honest, I am too busy looking at the road if I am up that high in the tach range. Anyway, last time I did look, it was buzzing a bit on my 09 CR, I don't know if my 08 R does it or not.

I once was following a d bag in the carpool lane on a rainy day... He finally moved over to let me pass, dropped the clutch in third. Passed him at Redline, back tire @110 and front maybe 50. One had off the bar sayin thanks to the man.

That was kinda scary.

Its been cold out here. With a cold rear tire, I can light it up at 80mph on a dry road.. Pretty fun and suprisingly stable.

Of course I could do them same on my ZX9R but it made 148@ th tire.

One clue....the fuel maps...
Altered correctly, the needle vibration will go away!

Why get something as expensive and useless as that?

I bet it can't simulate dyno runs

Or track fuel economy

Yes it has a lap timer and shift light and everything else that gauge will do, but I don't use those features. Oh, I just picked up a helmet mount HUD unit for it too, I am curious to try it out : )

I don't have any issue with vibration in the cluster, but I do rememeber others with a similar problem.

If I recall, the easy fix was to use rubber washers underneath the cluster. Not sure if they installed them at the mount points, or just wedged one in between the cluster and whatever was causing the vibration.

A search of BadWeb should reveal the answer.
