Well I haven't seen a CR HID install here yet so here is mine. I got the DDM H7, 55W, 8000K Dual Motorcycle HID Kit... Went with 8000K because of the washout factor they talk about. They have proven to be very similar to the 6000K 35W HID's The High beam H7 is held in the housing with some weird twist connector . IDK why they did that but it has to be modified to accept the HID bulb. Its a little tricky to get everything through it and the metal clip, but it turned out nicely and I am very happy with the result. The slim ballasts fit great under the "hood" of the CR with the double sided sticky stuff lol.

Looks good! Just got my DDMs yesterday. May try to put them in this weekend. How is it using an HID for the hi beam? |

I did that on my CR. I did low beam first then ended up doing the high beam also. The high beam at night does not come on instantly like a bulb, but I dont do a lot of night riding. I do run high beams in the day though. |

Modification of High H7 = 5min. Total install time is about 30! I used the stock headlight wiring to power them with no issues. I run the high beam 99% of the time so its not a problem. Starting both up at the same time with key on, not a problem. If someone is being a$$ on the freeway and I flash that thing at em, they almost crash into the median to get out of my way haha its great! Same here Hdwrenchtx, But I do ride a lot at night and early morning. The only other thing I wish you could do is spread the low and high beam aiming apart because the HID's have a broader range there is more usable light. How much does an HID upgrade cost? I don't ride much at night but when I do I need them. |

About $50. I am glad someone figured out the highbeam, I couldn't get mine to work because of that holder. I didn't want to cut it up, I figured I would botch it. |

Anywhere from $50-70 depending on the wattage you get (35W vs. 55W). http://www.ddmtuning.com/index.php?p=product&id=10 1&parent=85 |

My 55's were $75 shipped to my door. Took a week to get and DDM is only 80 miles from my house. |

This is in no way a rip on anyone in here, but WHY DOES EVERYONE show off their new headlights by taking a picture of the light? EVERY one is pure glare. Truly meaningful pictures would be before/after shots of the beam pattern looking against a wall or down a dark road. Sorry, rant off... |

I'll be shortly doing the same thing with my CR, and the wife's STT. I'll take pics like you suggest Nick. |

1234 its just to show the light color and not how bright it is.. Either way you take the pic won't matter for showing brightness. The camera will can make the light look as bright or as dim as it you want it to.. depends on how its setup. |

That's why before and after shots are important. With the same camera & settings. I have an Olympus DSLR I'd use for these pics. |

^^^Exactly. Look, this is the same crap that guys argue on the Civic forums. Bottom line is that the light output is a function of temperature (color), and wattage. So, in theory, any kit that actually outputs what it claims, will be the same. The real differences lie in the design of the headlight reflector and how well the particular bulb works with that reflector. While it isn't impossible to get a good HID setup in a reflector style headlight, it is not the norm. The bulb placement greatly impacts the focal point of the light and thus reduces output (and creates glare). Meaningful reviews need to discuss beam pattern. Thanks, Steve. |

Sorry guys. I was asked for the pic for comparison.. I took my picture with my Super DSLR 40X zoom dual whiffle ball bearing cell phone.. So yeah the pic sucks. |

Bottom line, the HIDs kick a**. So the "reflector" must work well with the cheap china made HID bulbs I have. mainly because of th focal point, flux capacitor and special blinker fluid..LOL |

Just put my HIDs in today. Those suckers are bright! Love them in 3000k. Not as yellow as I thought. |

I got 6800k HIDs for my lo-beams. The yellow halogen hi-beams make a good contrast, i use them to flash oncomings to get their attention. Here's a shot with the HIDs and one of the running lights on I use for turn signals.

Steve: Why would you take a picture of the stock beam pattern? Everyone knows what that looks like. I'll Get some pics for ya anyway. This thread is NOT for arguing about Beam pattern or wether or not you should put HID's in halogen housings or anything of the sort... It is simply to show install pics so other guys like me could do this easily and to help with that tricky holder for the high beam because I had not seen it done for the high and low. @Illbuell: Where can i get one of those Super DSLR 40X zoom dual whiffle ball bearing cell phones? sounds Badazz!. I took some of mine with my BiPolarChingasValveSphincterMechanism attachment. I have also just installed my piston return spring that has focused the HID beam so much it is like a laser!

Heres a pic of my just installed DDM 55W 5000K lo beam. I heard the 6000K light had too much blue in it, I hate bluish HID, looks like a cheap product. Glad I went with the 5000K, super white!

Mine are 6K and are no bluer than most cars with HID's.. I think it looks Badazz. The only bad thing about anything higher than 6K is its not as bright.. At that point you might as well save some money and buy colored bulbs.. (Message edited by illbuell on January 31, 2010) |
