I live in an area with pretty grippy back roads, and that's 90% of the riding I've done so far on my CR, and the rear tire is done with just under 1700 miles. No burn-outs or such. Going to try Michelin dual compond now. Yous guys do any better?

When mine gone on my CR I will go with continental road attacks. I have been running them on my busa and drz, very pleased with grip and life of them.

I'm coming up on 3700 on my 1125R's rear, with plenty of tread left.

I commute to work with it, and it's been quite cold lately (highs in the 40s, typically riding in the high 20s or low 30s).

It looks like I might be able to get 5k-6k miles on it, but that's winter miles, and without terribly much hard riding (as the good mountain roads have ice in the corners right now).

I just changed the rear on my CR, the original factory mounted Corsa III, 6742 miles on the odo when I changed it out.

This has been discussed a number of times here. You will get answers all over the map.

On the street, I get somewhere around 1100 miles from a Corsa III.

Every time I see this question (and it's come up more than once) I'm reminded of a Middle Eastern fable involving Nasreddin Hoca (who has been described as a "wise fool" by some). Tales of the Hoca server a similar purpose as "Aesops Fables."

Anyway, in this particular fable, the Hoca is standing by the side of the road when a traveler walks up and asks him how long it will take him to get to the next town.

The Hoca just stood and smiled. Confused, the traveler once again asked: "How long will it take me to get to the next town?"

As before, the Hoca just stood and smiled. Frustrated, the traveler raised his voice and shouted: "Are you DEAF or simple? I've asked a simple question: how long will it take me to get to the next town??"

Upon getting the same lack of response, the traveler stepped back and stormed down the road in a huff. At this point the Hoca yelled: "About a half an hour, Good Sir!"

Bewildered, the traveler returned and said: "So you can hear me! Why did you wait for me to get all angry and upset before answering my question??"

And the Hoca responded: "Good Sir, I could not give you an answer until I knew how fast you intended to walk!"

Do you keep the throttle pinned? Maybe by street riding you mean riding the dragon every day. I ride pretty aggressive and I'm all ready over 1600 miles with lots of rubber left.

Two track days and about 400 miles in Arkansas.

If I do street only (I don't really ride in town) they last closer to 1100 instead of 600.

I'm almost afraid to ask what you're defining "street riding" as if you only get 1100 miles on a tire.

Hopefully it's somewhere really, really hot.

That's actually something that I've noticed makes a BIG difference in tire life - they don't wear much at all in the winter (but they don't grip much either).

550 miles until I ran over a nail. Had the extended warranty including tire & rim coverage and waited 40 days for my dealer to get the replacement tire from HD. I guess there's not a big demand for HD to keep them in stock any longer. I hope the factory tire is good for 3500+/- miles

I don't get much milage from the Corsa III either. I tried a BT 003RS and same same. Must be my riding style. I'm lucky to get 2000 miles from a rear. I can get maybe 3500 from a front tire before I feel it's too dodgy and feathered.

I'm at 3800miles, and the wear bars are exposed. Looking at the Pirelli Angels, since I mostly commute and canyon carve.
I don't think I'll track this bike.
I kinda want another super moto, or a CBR600RR/748/9 track bike.

That tire was from this summer in Arkansas and Texas. In the Ozark mountains there's lots of good twisties... roads with turn after turn after turn for miles with good visibility, shoulders and pavement.

Pace is about 2x marked corner speed. So, on a highway with a 55 or 60 speed limit, when I see a sign that says "25" or "30" I'm going to be doing 70 pretty much the whole time regardless of what the road does. The key is maintaining that smooth constant speed.

I'll see if I can find some video. It's really not that insane because we are maintaining relatively slow straight speeds.

This tire wore out on the left first because of the 2 track days on it, obviously. Usually on a tire used purely for Arkansas, I'll wear it more or less smooth all the way around except at the far edges.

The wheels are standard buell wheels in a gold finish. I picked 'em up a while back as an extra set. They have some chips on them, but if you are interested send me a note. I just picked up some 16.5 forged magnesium wheels for the track bike, and I don't need 5 sets of buell wheels!

I got to the 3k mark on my CR last weekend. The tire was getting down to min tread and then somehow my tire got a hole! and went flat right in the HD service bay lol. The next day I had fresh new meat for free and just now I'm starting to ride her real hard. The Front still looks good...

Yea: don't. Why on *earth* would you want to do this?

A 200 is going to really slow down the handling of the bike, and I can't recommend it under any circumstances.

Also, far fewer quality tires for sportbikes are offered in a 200. 190 is generally the widest available in performance rubber, 16.5 tires for the Ducati excluded...

Hmmmm..... Rosso (Diablo Rosso, NOT the 'new' Diablo Rosso Corsa?) gives about 2X the miles of a Corsa (Diablo Corsa III?) with the same bike, same rider.
Useful information.
Thanks Rotax2!

By the way, with the (model name in parenthes) I'm just trying to make doubly-sure of just which tires you are referring to.
Pirelli seems stuck on using the same names in various combinations. I find it a bit confusing.

It sure would be nice if they published wear ratings under some standard conditions. At least one could get an idea of the comparative lifespans of the tires.

I recently bought an 1125R with 5900 miles on it. The Corsa III rear tire had a flat area in the middle, and pretty wide chicken strips on each side.
Took 'er for a ride -what a wonderfully-handling racehorse!- when I came back, I noticed the cord just barely becoming visible in the center. New tire time!

Going stricly from what I could read on Pirelli's website, the Strada seems like a reasonable choice for me. Almost as much grip, 2X to 3X the lifespan.

I use the whole tire on my Uly, but I'm not as 'sporty' as some of you on here.
I'm allergic to road-rash, I guess.

I got about 5,500 miles out of my OEM Corsa IIIs and then almost 12,000 miles out of my 1st set of Metzeler Z6s.
Another 5,500 miles out of a Shinko 006 Podium rear tire and then put another set of Metzeler Z6s on which gave me nearly 11,000 miles.
And finally I'm now running a set of Michelin Pilot Power Road 2CTs which I dislike; they don't provide anywhere near as much wet grip as the Metzeler Z6s.
My next set of tires will be Metzeler Z6 Interacts.

Here's the Shinko rear when it was about time to change after a lot of commuting and probably a few too many wheelies:

16,000+ km on my first set of Corsa III (oem set); the replacement set is well on the way to matching that (I'm at a total 27,000+ km on the bike). The first set did 30+ circuits of Phillip Island raceway. The second set goes back to P.I. in less than a month.

Found a great price on a Michelin at the local Kawasaki dealer and needed a tire pretty bad so I went for it. Will probably go with Angel ST (Strada replacements by the way) front and back in the Spring. So far the Pilot Power 2 (or whatever the hell it's called) will have to do. The BT-003RS up front still has a few thousand left in it (I hope) so by the time I square off the back it'll be Spring and time for a matched set.
