what is the fastest way to tell if you bike has the "new", not leaky cover? The size of the puck? Did anyone get the dealer to replace the old version without it leaking, or will they only replace it when it starts to leak, under warranty? Thanks |

You can't tell, as the fix is internal. Neither my 08 with the old cover or 09 with the newer cover (large puck) have leaked. If yours is a leaker, warranty takes care of it by changing the bits under the cover. |

Rev A is a plastic puck, a little over an inch in diameter. Rev B is aluminum (I think) and like what you'd find on 2009 and newer, it's closer to 2" in diameter, but, there's a revised puck inside and different orings, so I think the internals work with either cover. There's also a Rev C, but it looks like the B cover with the latest updated internals. Only way to know for sure is to have the dealer run the vin and check for service work. I've had them all done, 4th time it finally quit leaking. |
