Dunno about pictures, but it's fairly easy. Remove the seat. 4 screws to pull the outer cover. Pry the fuel vent line from it's channel on the and either remove it or lay it to the side. Pop the tabs around the perimeter of the airbox cover. Rubber straps hold the filter in place. 2 screws at the front of the airbox base (near the gas cap), a wire bundle to pop out at the left rear, and a brass fitting to pop out on the middle rear. The grommet is tight between the throttle bodies, but with patience it will come out (and go back in when finished). |

My bike hasn't bogged out on me due too the noid since the most recent flash.... is this really still necessary? |

I have never felt the solenoid kick in on either my 1125R or 1125CR. I only had my CR denoided since I was having the clubman bars put on and you have to do 80% of the denoid anyway during it. |

Never felt my CR solenoid kick either... and don't want to ever. I thought ya'll were full crap on how heavy it was until I removed it. Yeah, you were right, it's heavy. Beautiful well made piece tho. Nels |

All Done.... Jardine RT-5, Jardine pro-tune 3 and denoid with resistor.. Bike runs great. Crisp throttle response and sounds great. Feels stronger but, Not a big power gain. Still worth it for the sound.. |

When My noid kicked in on me while passing a car in the mountains I about sh*t myself... It's scary! Removing the inner air box makes the bike sound mean! |

Do you mean the main airbox cover? The one the tank vent runs over? |

Illbuell, Yes Sir! My next thing to do is put the sexy little XB12R vent behind the gas cap |

If you remove the inner cover you will lose the ram air affect at higher speeds. Unless you seal it to the outer plastic. However, I think I wanna remove mine to hear it. |

Main thing I noticed was the throttle was a lot lighter and felt more precise with the noid out. |

> Main thing I noticed was the throttle was a lot lighter and felt more precise with the noid out. That's the reason I did mine. The throttle pull is so much lighter! |

I never felt it on my CR (latest flash) but still have depressingly few miles. I like the lighter throttle idea though, and have the high bar kit I'll be changing to shortly. Anybody know if taking out the noid voids the warranty (or is at least a setup for an argument with the dealer)? |

It's unlikely - my dealer didn't fit the cable at all to mine when new... |

If it is a worry just undo the cable and leave the solenoid. |

word on the nice piece. i took mine off to reduce pressure on wrist when riding and as security against it getting slapped shut at that inopportune time. when i got it off the bike i had the same thought shame that it has to come off because it does look so nice... |

Can I get the resistor from my local HD dealer or is there a better place? |

Sportbikermed: Get it from HD. But make sure you talk to someone who knows what they're doing because when i went in the first day they told me such a part doesn't exist and didn't really know what i was talking about. I had to come in with the part number then it magically appeared... |

Thanks Captain. I do have a local HD dealer and a forum member works there and has been great help with parts thus far. |

Not sure if this was asked yet. Will this void the factory warranty? I know it was said that it will throw a code and that would come up if you have it serviced. |

Dosmie, throwing a code kind of depends on how you look at it. Couple of examples >> 1. If you use the resistor, or even disconnect the H/W cable at the throttle body, you won't throw a code due only to that. (If you just disconnect the solenoid electrical lead and leave it with no device/resistance, you will.) 2. Even with the resistor, the code you will encounter is the one whereby you would hit the noid conditions (3rd hear, WOT, 4850 revs) but the bike doesn't shut the TB as designed. That will set a code, but it self clears after 50 cycles, and the CEL goes out (and stays out) the very next time you start the bike. As for warranty, that's part of the reason I left my noid there and simply put the resistor in, which can be done (or even undone) simply by removing the front seat. I had the resistor installed when I took mine for its 620 mile servicing, and even told them they'd see a code for the times the bike wanted to 'noid' but didn't. They didn't mind at all ... Mike |

Thanks Mike. Just one of the questions I have had with the 1125r |

Regarding warranty on your bikes: I work for a H-D/Buell dealer, and typically, the only time there is an issue with getting your bike repairs covered under warranty is if that particular part has been altered, removed, or changed in any way. I.E. If you disconnect the throttle solenoid, and your bike is leaking out of the clutch piston/cyl assembly, the piston/cyl assembly will still be covered. If you change your exhaust, and a turn signal goes out, your turn signal is covered. Now if a part fails that is directly related to the change made, there might be an issue. |
