I enjoyed that. I don't know him personally, but Erik seems a class act on every level. Mike |

Thanks for posting! A couple of things that jumped out at me: EB: “Like I said, I still wish it could’ve worked. I think if we’d have lasted another five years, we would’ve turned the thing around. We had just won our first championship, we would’ve run American Superbike this year, and World Superbike in 2011. Asked if the new 1190RR was the sportbike seen in spy shots testing near the East Troy plant, Buell said: “No, you haven’t seen pictures of the 1190R. One of these days we’ll get them up.” Very interesting! EB: “I’m certainly not done..." |

Great article. This is what makes Buell great... "That’s all that was just on my mind, all just this huge weight of ‘oh my god, what do I do to help all these people." In everything I have read over the years, it's always been about the people. He had it right, it just didn't quite work out. On a large scale at least. God speed. |

I thought is was Spaghetti wrestling... Maybe that's Daytona.... Anyway, that's an interesting article. I didn't know the V-Rod engine was Eric's concept originally. I knew Porsche designed it based on the XR1000 motors. But I'm not surprised. I didn't think it was an HD idea to begin with. It is a huge leap away from the traditional HD motors. HD hijacked the idea. Peter |

Good article! F-ing H-D! It sounds like they saw the good new idea's the Buell had, and they wanted to get the credit for it! Buell with a water-cooled bike in 98! That would've changed it all! The dirt bike would've been neat too! Then when Eric gets his first serious bike to compete with the Jap/Euro bikes H-D says your not selling good enough for us. If you would stop stealing their IDEA'S then maybe they would've been selling better now! |
