My jardine RT-5 blows on the swing arm pretty bad.. has anyone tried flipping the adapter bracket over where it curves opposite way to solve this? Any fixes or problem with just leaving it this way???
I had that problem too. I made an exhaust tip with a curve for it. I just got a piece of pipe that fit in the tip and had it bent on a 45 degree angle. Then I cut it to where it wasnt too long. I had to cut slots in the Jardine tip under the plastic cap to make it fit in. Then I drilled 2 holes and put screws in to hold it. I painted mine black. The plastic cap that comes with the muffler covers the slots and the screws. I dont have any pics right now to post.
Keep an eye on that cf canister. If you notice the cf looks dry check your packing.Or if the cf is wet looking after you ride its melting.Mine did that but I caught it before it was ruined. It will take about 5k of hard riding .Just keep an eye on it.
I haven't found a better looking pipe for the price of the RT-5.. The only thing I like better is 1200 euros... Thats to much for me to spend on a pipe for the street. No offense but, I haven't seen a home made pipe that I like..
The fmf full is the ticket if your gonna spent 1300.00 Its loud but ear plugs are cheap. Its made in the usa too. I also agree that no pipe I've found home made has really got me giddy either. The fmf full is sexy
Illbuell,..the full FreeSpirits setup is just beautiful,...what i don't understand is why there is an almost bashing of the slip-on only version (which is a bit cheaper). The only downside that i have seen mentioned, seems to be some discoloration issues (which personally i don't mind at all)
Does anybody have just the slip on from FS ? and can post their opinion ?
I agree with you, apart from the FS, the FMF full pipe is the next best good looking pipe, while Jardine is the best looking of the slip-ons.
I don't blame the owner of the discolored FS slip ons for being pissed. Not only do the pipes look like crap, the company doesn't respond like they should, sounds like they are blowing him off the last I heard.
Most if not all of the available slip ons for the 1125CR really don't float my boat. Many look homemade and some look like they don't even belong on the bike.

I remember reading on another forum about the guy with the FS full system. After dyno runs, his cans were discolored too, so I don't think it's just the slip-ons.
I agree with the Jardine being the next best looking slip-on. Every time I think I want the FMF for the sound I think, "but damn that CF Jardine looks so much better." I guess performance and looks are mutually exclusive in Buell 1125 world.
If discoloration is only that, meaning just color of the material and no underlying problems ,..then i do not mind the discoloration one bit. In fact it looks kinda nice.
The discoloration was on the slip on Free Spirits exhaust. It was not on the pipe, but on a anodized section. Free Spirits recently told me they were redesigning the slip-on.
The dyno runs totally discolored the mufflers, I'll post photos tomorrow. The front half of the can is totally faded out. Looks like a Micron can that goes from one color to another.
This was a FULL system, quoted from Buelletinboard. NO, not the SS pipes, the cans, like I said above.
