Got my stem mount from Ram and mounted my droid to it. Ram doesnt make a specific droid mount(yet?), but Motorola does sell a car kit with a nice sturdy ram-like mount. The ram stem mount didnt work with the buell the way it is directed. But I got it to work with a little thinking and some extension sockets ; )

Anway, awesome navigation, music, internet, bluetooth ect, ect. It has a nice car mode also that works well, larger buttons, ect.
The voice recognition on this phone is the best I have seen. You can just say a address and it reads it right every time. Obviously none of this is that useful on the bike besides the music and navigation. I do like being able to hear/see if someone calls.

The navigation is top notch, better then any stand along unit I have owned. Several garmin's and a magellan(crap). Uses google maps, and actually shows your destination in google street view as you approach. Pretty bad ass.

I also added a accessory plug, pretty straight forward. Just bought a plug from autozone and mounted it under the fairing.

Nice!

So did you drill 4 holes and mount a Ram ball round plate to the back of the Droid car mount?

3 actually,
There is a access panel on the inside of the motorola mount. you pop that off and there are three mold marks? 3 circles, one in the middle top and two on the bottom in each corner. they actually line up with the mounting holes on the ram round universal ball mount.
Piece of cake.

I have a 2 hole diamond mount laying around - do you think that will work?

I am sure it would. It isn't any wider then The circular one I have. if it were too wide you could mount it diagonally for sure. The outside corners and top are clear. The middle and bottom are taken up by the motorolla mounting clip. I will try to snap a pic if I remember of the inside.

Its just the power cable. The car kit comes with one. Like most phones these days its just a mini usb.

I think the Droid uses a Micro USB for power.

I realized it was a power cable...I was more questioning what you did for power.

I put a accessory plug under the fairing. Just zip tied for now. I am exploring a mounted solution for now

So you are looking for more of a way to cleanly mount a waterproof accessory socket?

I was doing some searching and came up with a few things.
I like this ebay listing. I really like the dual outlet. I was thinking mounted to the side of the fairing stay on my 1125r.

I really like these, but they are in the UK and dont know what the final cost would be shpped to the US.

I also found these two also

Yeah, the problem with the R is the lack of an "inner fairing". You can't just drill a 1" hole and mount a socket. I wonder how some double sided tape would work along the bottom inner of the fairing.

I have always hard wired the GPS power. I have run a Nuvi 350 for years like that.

Something like this: (Right Angle)

http://www.amazon.com/Gilsson-Direct-Garmin-Magell an-TomTom/dp/B001A4HAQ2

Here is a straight line jack:

http://www.amazon.com/GA-NHWC-Hardwire-Mini-USB-connector-Roadmate/dp/B001M09L20/ref=sr_1_15?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1260719443&sr=8-15

In this case you need a mini to micro adapter, but there may be a version in micro USB.

Thats a good idea Jkelly. I dont always use the phone/gps, so I wouldnt want the power cable hard wired.

Avc, I dont see why some good 3m double stick wouldnt hold. I mean they use that to mount lots of things. You could even mount the plug to a acrylic plate that you then could double stick on to maximize the surface area to stick to?

Also, ccryder got me thinking. I dont ride in the rain, but you never know when a shower will hit, or mud splashed, ect..
I may invest in one of these.

The Aquaboxes are awesome, worth every cent. Just drill a small hole for you USB cord and your good to go. Thats what I do for my phone. Touchscreens don't work that well in the case so you may have to pop it open to text while riding.

Not to get off topic, but what made you choose the blueant over say chatterbox or other models?

I use a Scala Rider QC2 paired with my Garmin Zumo 550 GPS and HTC Touch Pro Windows phone, quality is fantastic, most of the time the person on the other end doesn't even know I'm on the bike unless I go full throttle on my Micron quipped XB. I need to call my google voice phone and upload it here to demonstrate.

I had very good results with the mono BlueAnt system and when I was looking for A2DP compatability for the new Droid the F4 model fit the bill.

I installed my diamond Ram mount on the back of the Droid Car mount. Opened the magnet box and drilled two holes for small bolts. Nice and snug. Most likely use a black rubber band as a safety over the phone on the left side of the mount.

Jeff:
BTW those Nylock nuts will not be too effective unless you have some of the screw sticking through the nylon locking feature. A friend of mine almost lost his Zumo because he cut his screws too short on his mount. He was on an IL4 so there was higher freq vibes but, it can happen on our v-twins too.
