i just got my fmf pipe yesterday and i was looking at the db killer and was wondering if anyone knows the principal behind it, is it as simple as it decreases the diameter of the opening. i was thinking of machining up a few but wasn't sure if it would change the back pressure and afect the preformance of the pipe, i just wanted to see if i could get the pipe to be just a little quieter. Any insight that anyone has would be appreciated. |

do not put it in your bike it will run like junk, I put it in both directions barely makes it quieter and kills power at all rpms. |

I don't know what flash I have on my 2009 1125R (stock and bought just over a couple months ago), but I when I got my FMF Apex slip-on I put the db killer in the "less loud" position (I forget which way that is) along with a K&N air filter. My bike runs extremely strong. It has a very slight stumble when rolling on full throttle around 3500-4000 rpm but it runs super strong all the way to redline after that. I wouldn't even call it a stumble really, it's more like the map is really rich in that area and then it just takes off. I'm 250lbs in riding gear and can barely keep the front end down accelerating hard out of 1st and 2nd gear corners, so I'm pretty sure it's running strongly. Jeff |

when I first installed mine I had it on the most quiet setting (pointed toward engine) and lost my no effort roll on 2nd gear wheelies. Its now pointed toward the exhaust exit and roll on wheelies are back. I could barely tell a difference in sound. I am still riding (socal) and my AFV have been solid at 89 and 89.5 for a few weeks now. Im about to remove it completely and see whats up |

woah 89! that cant be good if its really restricting flow that much that your losing that much fuel on a bike that all ready runs lean ur killin your power! |
