I have a 2009 1125R, the only mods I have done to it are a K&N air filter and a HMF slip on exhaust. here is my problem which im sure everybody has had when doing this, somewhere between the 3000 to 5000 rpm range the engine likes to lug and sputter or what not. my question is, without a dyno because im a cheap ass, what would be the best tuner or thing to do without going back to stock? suggestions? help me  | ||

i had the dealer reflash it, i have to yet go get the bike. if i still get the sputtering/lugging. any suggestions after that? | ||

Do you still have the intake solenoid in place? Try disconnecting the cable and see if that helps... Although to be fair that only effects things in certain bonditions at certain revs so it's unlikely - but it is free to do LOL | ||

no i have not tried to disconnect it, but i shall keep that in mind when spring comes. thanks | ||

The problem is Fuel, The HMF is a cheap build open pipe, almost dragstyle, it uses therefore a lot of fuel, Mount your stock exhaust back with stock filter and see what happends then (-: buy a reprogrammed ecm for your setup.. the problem with piggy bags is that they don't work very good. Better to safe some money first and then buy something.. | ||

Easy hit it on the head... I wonder how long it will take for people to realize that you can't just change filter and exhaust without programming the ECM.... Need the tune to ensure its safe during the entire rpm band for WOT and cruise situations | ||

Its not that the Jardine, HMF, FMF or other slipons need alot of work for the maps, its the fact that they are so free flowing... Remember this ECM is speed density EFI.. that means a Calculated GUESS on set parameters. changing the exhaust to a free flowing slipon, is changing a set parameter pretty drastically. it just needs a tune... and then you would see a better gain with no hiccups. or reinstall the stock exhaust | ||

I would like to thank everyone for your thoughts and ideas on this thread. once all the damn snow leaves i shall see if the reflash did the trick, if not then i think ill send the ECM to Easyrider. | ||

Easyrider, correct me if i'm wrong but, I think Easyrider means if He has the muffler that 5 people are going to use and He has 5 ECM's, then He can make 5 ECM's for the same muffler and give a good price for doing 5 instead of 1. | ||

ahhh now i understand lol. duh justin, i would have no problem sending my slip on as well with my ECM. I currently am not in possesion of my bike for it is at the harley shop getting repaired due to some prick kicking it over back in october. ill get back to you on a time when im gonna send the goods Easyrider | ||
