I have a nasty habit off leaving my indicators on. This is a dangerous practice but i continue to do it. My other bikes had self canceling which suits me but now i have to remember......does any one have a solution for my lack of remembering like a flasher can noise or light thingy....Romano |

its just something that you have to train yourself to do......try leaving your thumb on the switch until your ready to cancel it out. |

Do it when you shift. You almost always shift after a turn. KeS |

I'ts a very hard thing for me to do also.Leaving your finger on the switch seems like a simple fix. I think i'll try that. |

Practice and make it a habit to cancel the signal while you are turning. Think of the cancel button as being a nipple needing touched. If that doesn't help you remember, I don't know what will. |

I'll try to do what KeS suggested, cancel when I shift to 2nd. I too leave mine on since every bike I've had this past decade self-canceled. I could be wrong, but I seem to remember my '00 X1 doing so ... But we all know memories grow sweeter with time! Mike (Message edited by milleniumx1 on December 20, 2009) |

It's a real pain when one bike you own has self-canceling but the other two don't. I do however have a wife who slaps me on the back of the helmet when I leave them on |

Thanks guys....the leave hand on switch idea just might work...will give that a go..I knew there would be an answer some where..I saw a white 2010 CR the other day. It had been bought as an investment by my local Harley dealer...looked good but all black is the winner....Romano |

I have that same problem. Bad. I have been meaning to do something like this, but have not gotten around to it. http://www.google.com/products?hl=en&q=turn%20sign al%20beeper&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wf I really like the idea about the nipple, tho... R |

I always check my signals by habit several times after making a turn. I don't even know I'm doing it half the time. You could always change out to Oberon bar end signals (or the pod type) which are double sided. You would have a hard time NOT seeing them flash back at you. Kirb |

Use hand signals. Seriously though, I still getting used to riding a bike with a gauge cluster so even remembering that I have turn signals is a big step. Of course when I do use them, the big ass blinking light on the cluster is usually a pretty good reminder that they are on. |

Just do like the squids around here do, just kick your leg in the direction you're about to turn. You look cool as piss and it's worth 15HP! [/dripping with sarcasm.] |

I have a signal canceling addiction. I cancel them every couple of minutes while riding whether I justed used them or not ... especially when approaching an intersection or something. Kinda like Signal Cancelling OCD ... (Message edited by dmhines on December 22, 2009) |

I do the same thing Dmhines, lol. I'm always hitting that yellow button "just in case." Wouldn't want to send the wrong signals (oh that was a bad one, I know). |
