Hey guys! I want to make a custom front pulley which means i need to get it machined somewhere. Have any of you got any ideas on how and where to get that sort of work done? |

Talk to some of our sponsors like American Sport Bike or Precision Engineering. |

What front pully are you talking about? I can't imagine it will be cheap to have a custom one made. |

Isn't the cush drive integral with the front pulley? Sly, didn't you pull your's apart and do some shimming? R |

Exactly what are you looking for? A polished one? Just something different than stock? Lighter? Different # of teeth? (Message edited by d_adams on December 17, 2009) |

Cush drive, does what it sounds like, cushions the drive train. |

If you are thinking of the belt pulleys, I know an engineer who managed to machine new belt pulleys and get a different ratio on his Can-Am. He said he could probably do it for 1125s, and the prices he told me were pretty reasonable. I can't see it being that easy though. I looked at that with my Firebolt and in the end the only way to gear it up was the primary. My 1125R is geared a bit higher than I like it. It may only be because of the cushion or perhaps it will hold lower revs when it runs in. At the moment though the cush drive is the only thing I dislike about the bike, and I would like to be a gear higher when I go into tight corners. When Erik Buell was in Australia promoting the 1125R I asked him about the cush drive and he said that it is necessary for noise reduction. |
