is riding with clutch fluid seeping out of "weep hole" bad idea? was told also that 2008 clutch assembly has been superseded because of this problem. anyone know all the details behind this. was told this was not supposed to happen and on here somewhere i saw someone say that it was okay. everything i was told was from dealership. |

A weeping clutch is not supposed to be "normal" on a new bike. Having said that, there is a kit for the problem: X2086.1AM - Hydraulic Piston/Sleeve Kit As for riding it while it's weeping, as long as it is a weep & not a stream/geyser, and you keep an eye on the fluid level, topping off as needed, you should be fine until you can get it in to be cared for. Just my opinion & YMMV. |

+1 on everything they said. If at any time you see a puddle on the ground, or spray (check your boot, exhaust, and swingarm), it's probably time to stop. I had mine replaced ***4*** times over a period of about 6 months while waiting for them to develop the upgrade that P2 references above. In all that time, it actually failed one time; I had to do shiftless clutching for about 2 miles to get home. The upgrade kit seems to have fixed the problem entirely. |

Good luck trying to get one, I have had one on order since October. Or so my local dealer tells me. I would like to know if other dealers are having a problem getting warranty items like this...? |

Yeah, I never waited more than a week for delivery. But then again, my last need for one was like April --- well before we were pronounced bastard stepchildren. |

so far it still seems a small problem. nothing to worry about except the extra pre, mid, post checks. i have faith in local Buell techs. they've been straight shooters thus far. now if it gets to where im waiting past the date they said the parts will arrive for a new bike. then we got a problem. and yes i do understand i did purchase a bike whose manufacturer was shut down. however, the salesman said factory warranties will be honored and that they will continue to provide parts for Buell models for next "11 years." |

"Good luck trying to get one, I have had one on order since October. Or so my local dealer tells me. I would like to know if other dealers are having a problem getting warranty items like this...?" Three weeks ago my clutch slave failed completely. It wouldn't hold hydraulic pressure more than a few minutes. My dealer said they were on back order but they had the part last week and had it back together, including an updated} clutch cover. |

I just took mine in today for the clutch weep. I'll try and keep everyone updated as far as the waiting period goes. |

So the entire dealership shutdown? I guess HD is hurting more than publicly acknowledging. Thats the first HD shutdown I've heard of in current economic crisis. |

I know a HD only dealer near me filed for bankruptcy protection, but the lights are still on for now. |

Mine was leaking and Mancuso replaced the cover (Rev B!). Don't wait to have these things looked at. |

That piston and cylinder kit should be readily available currently. |

I just went to my dealer yesterday, they told me they know of the problem, they ordered the piston sleeve kit and new cover, will also give me the 062 flash while its in the shop. As soon as they call they said bring it back for the repairs. Another guy bought 2 from there both started leaking and he got both fixed at the same time. The dealers better start stocking up on these babies. |
