I got these exhaust turnout tips on eBay as discussed in the other thread -- very pleased with them -- works for me -- fast service, good bolt-on mod, E-Z install. (I searched eBay motorcycle parts for "Buell exhaust tips".) I just leaned on the passenger peg a little to compress the rear suspension so that it was easy to slip on the upper tip past the brake line clip: Still playing with the angle, and I might paint them black as I did the heat shield. -Kurt (Message edited by whynot on November 29, 2009) |

Does it use a set screw or something to hold it on? It does look good btw. |

Does it do anything to the sound of the bike? |

They attach with allen set screws. Very well made imho. I haven't started the bike since installing them. I'll post more info tomorrow. -Kurt |

If you unload the suspension (i.e. cresting a hill), does the brakeline clip hit the top tip? |

You can tap the brake line clip inward with a hammer if necessary. Check the other 1125 forum for some stainless steel tips for the same price and they look better to me. The two tips don't look the same or is it just me? |

Blackflash, your tips aren't even cut at the same angle, looks like shiot to me. the other tips haven't been produced yet, so i'd hold your bashing until you see the final production piece. I can't believe you get these kids to pay you $90 for cheap metal pipe! Bravo to you sir! |

By the way, I do not make exhaust tips. Not sure if you were implying they were my product. I can bash your product or theirs with a clear conscience and unbiased opinion, you can't. |

These look loose? Polised stainless steel for $90 and these are not the production versions. Still seems like a lot of dough and i'll be making my own for myself. Maybe we should let the forum decide which looks better. You all ready know my vote. |

They also look longer too.Look at the line bracket .Remember a tight bend will keep them short too.So get the right supplys before you bash .Like I stated tight bends arent cheap .Those bends probably are 3 to 4 in radius and are cheap to pick up and probably a low grade.Get 304 stainless lets talk tubing prices chump!!dont forget when he sells em add 9$ ebay fees and 4$ for paypal. |

304 stainless is available special order for an additional $30 This is what your original auction stated, so that would make them $115! Now you are saying you use 304 stainless for all your tips? I can't believe people are paying you good money for this crap. He's not selling them on ebay, idiot! For the record you started the name calling chump! Ahhhhh, more exhaust drama. Feel the love. MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! Ok, I'll throw mine in there just to show a decent set of tips. Of course, mine aren't for the faint of heart when it comes to $$, but, since I weld them in place, they're guaranteed not to fall off at an inopportune moment, like when it's running.

Also, FWIW, you can get a tight U-bent pipe for $50 + shipping with a 2.5" centerline from burns stainless. http://www.burnsstainless.com/cgi-bin/order.py?act ion=add&part_number=UB-175-25-16-304 Expensive my a$$. $60 shipped, cut it, dress it up, put a bolt on it. Me, I charge for my time, not for the materials. |

my vote is all these tips look like sh!t. i would rather wait and have exhaust/soot blow on my wheel rather than putting these abortions anywhere near my bike.. |

I love this forum, it was too peaceful here anyway on a Saturday night, my wife wanted to see "Coco avant Chanel" so we just got back, it was OK (the Audrey Tatou part anyway), now got the hockey game on, Bruins just tied the Sens at 2 ... . So back to BadWeb for a little more excitement ... Yeah, I gotta adjust them a little more. My Triumph is on the lift so I was working on the floor, and even with kneepads my knees ain't what they used to be, so I gave it a break. They were worth it to me. The other day I started up the bike for a ride, it was around 40 or so, and the exhaust blew water on the brake and wheel for five minutes. I guess if I had a band saw and belt sander and time to drive around looking for tubing bends, I might try making them myself. Think of the money I could have saved if I'd painted my Triumph myself instead of giving $$$$ to Hutchinson. -Kurt |

"Whynot are yours a tight fit." Yep, good fit, the exhaust tips, that is. I applied some anti-seize. In fact, I can't see how you got them to fit like that, not too tight, not loose, just right. |

Who doesn't like a good debate over who has the best pair of tips? I prefer perky tips vs long tips that point down. Sometimes even fake tips look good if done well. |

IMO D adams had the nicest of the three, but then again he isn't offering just "tips" of the tips i like the ebay ones the most, but i dunno if i would get them, i considered it, but i got other things to spend money on... Moosestang, if you don;t like the price, dont buy em.. no need to try to bash the "other guy" as for all the bickering amongst you two....... go get a room already... |
