Lots of local car upholstery shops do bike seats and do a good job, too.
Here's a pic of the seat on my Triumph Frankenbike project. I took the seat pan, ratty foam, and ratty old cover to a local shop, he reconstructed the foam, stitched up a new cover, and put it all back together for $150:
Actually, his mom does the stitching.

Im not afraid of making my own but from everythign I have read and felt myself with the factory custom I thought it was the best bang for the buck. My time is worth somehting too and with an 8 month old son its VERY fleeting anymore.
Guess its on the winter project list, next to the full custom XB-S Seat thats half done sitting on the work bench. |

I am VERY interested in the rear seat you designed for your firebolt.
I agree, leveling the seat to keep the passenger from sliding is a valid concern, and the extra padding has to help on longer rides.
How did you attach your backrest support?
Can you PM me with some more info?

Just got my seat last night from the dealer I bought my CR from. Ordered it last month. Had gotten a call from the dealer last week to tell me that they would not be getting it. Two days later they called me back that they were getting one for me. Also got the 2010 white air box cover, Front Fender and flyscreen last night. Leaving the black tail and black pods.

Hey thanks -- but "Triumph" in gold, not white, right?
Anyway, almost done with the project.
OK, getting off thread, just illustrating what a local auto seat guy can do, and how you can give your money to the little guy and not always to H-D.

Tq_freak I have a Buell custom seat that I bought the beginning of the month. I only used it for a couple of days and took it off. It negated the rise I got out of the custom bars I made. If you don't want it, I'll throw it on the classifieds or ebay. I sent you a PM. Let me know. |

Mike did you photoshop that?
If you did could you do a CR in all white?
I've just bought a 2010 CR in white but it comes with a black back end and I think it would look better all white.

Froggy, I love the white and Blue CR and if money were no object my red one would be that way already.
Think all its missing is Blue logo on the airbox cover and need to get the 2010 Pod logo done in blue also.
And maybe have the header of the heat shield powder coated blue |
