Just picked up my R a week ago and it has been getting along quite well with my '04 XB12R in the garage. I have been searching the boards for knowledge but as we all know the search function here stinks. So if you're an "Old School" (meaning the last 3 years) 1125 guy please post known issues, tips, & suggestions here (without a ton of detail) and accompanying links. Here I'll start: "De-Noid" - This refers to the de-activation of a active air-intake solenoid that will cause major power loss during certain conditions (like passing on the freeway in 3rd gear). It was done by Buell to meet EPA noise requirments, is easily disabled & from what I've found so far EVERYONE here will recommend disabling it. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/290 431/488842.html Also some problems I've heard about on here: leaky clutch cover, oil check procedure, "boiling fuel", ECM flash update. Please save your "you must do this" or "you're stupid for doing this", or your "this is how I did this" comments for the actual links that cover that topic. I know how it pisses the old guys off to reiterate the same old crap |

Gotta wind down some how after getting off that thing. No way I can go right to sleep after feeding my "R" addiction.

I don't see why there are ever any new post made. the board should be locked and only the search function left to work. |

I do use Search prior to asking for basic/general information, if for no other reason than to make my Q&A threads begin somewhat intelligently. Lots of great info here, but by starting threads I've also found who the most helpful folks are. Historical info is useful, but it isn't everything. Mike |
