Anyone here running an aftermarket slip on without any ECM mods? Any issues. I have a friend from Buell that I'm sure could help me out with tweaking the ECM, but was wondering if anyone has gone the above mentioned route. Thanks |

My Jardine slip on I ordered will probably be here before my bike gets here. Ill install it as soon as the bike gets here and see how it is. |

I think the typical slipon will run a little bit lean. I never ran mine on the dyno while I had the Jardine on it, but the AFV's went up to 115 front and 110 rear. |

I ran my FMF with a K&N for 3-4 weeks before I got the O.S.B. tune... It ran fine like that. The only thing I ever noticed was on a cold start it would pop (backfire?) and die... the second start attempt it always fired right up. |

Xtreme is your bike pretty happy with the tune? how is drivability around town? twistys? track? this seems like the best option at this point |

Jardine works better with the Pro-Tune 3 card. Not exactly a tune, but it does add fuel, so it's kind of a poor (or lazy) man's tune. |

My Drummer does fine with no tune. If anything, the AFV overcompensated as I think it's a tad rich at full throttle. |

Hope you like obnoxiously loud (Jardine)...brrrapppabrappbrrrrapppp...} I hope the Jardine isnt too loud. I dont like really loud exhausts. The jardine was the only affordable exhaust that I had heard of besides D&D, which is notoriously loud. I liked how the Hard Rock Motorsports exhaust sounded, but the only feedback I got about it was negative.}} |

THE BIKE IS MUCH BETTER BEHAVIED IN EVRY WAY WITH THE O.S.B. TUNE. ITS SMOOTHER AT LOW RPMS, PULLS HARDER AND SEEMS TO RUN COOLER AND SMOOTHER AND QUIETER WITH THE TUNE INSTALLED. (damn caps lock) I am still dialing it in but the performance utility defaulty the afv's at 112m I'm at 116 now and still heading in the upward curve... I give about 4-5 days of riding before changing to really document notes on each setting before I change them. 112-114 had some idle surgeing but thats much better now at 116. |

I heard there was a "original" and "shorter" version of the jardine. Is this true? Got any part numbers for old/new? I think the original had a clearance issue. |

Yeah, thats the part# I see most places. Am I full of it? Did they make a shorter pipe? (Message edited by barker on November 09, 2009) |

It is now a little (~1.5 inch) shorter. The old pipe is no longer available. I believe the mounting hardware is also just slightly different, because the pipe also sits a little differently now. This is thanks to Jersey_Thunder, who hounded Jardine to fix it after he found out the hard way that the old style would scrape the ground at full lean. |

Is there any type of power commander or some boxed tune that you just plug in? How do you guys get the tunes into the ecm of the bike? |

I'll be fitting the HMF slip on in a week or so. Just ordered it today. I expect it to run lean with the K&N filter. I'm leaning toward having it tuned locally on a Dyno at the Buell shop. |

Wait I thought the custom tune was plug and play. Dyno tuned for the stock 49 state bike. Why would you have to play with the AFVs at all? I would guess that the AFVs are locked at a certain value and the tuning is done in the fueling matrix itself. Am I whacked or what? |

Drummer and stock exhaust on mine, the air fuel ratio was a tad leaner than stock at WOT, but been running it for several thousand miles, and no meltdown. Not a big deal. R |

I'm currently at 116 f and r with mine. Dave said that he has had 08's into the high 120's when I spoke with him on the phone. |
