I bought a new 08'. Barely made it out of the dealer lot when I noticed the rear signals failed. I removed them from the bike since I added the Jardine SS elim kit...The dealer will not swap them unless they do the work ON the bike. It is a pain for me...I do not ride to work (have a job in which I need a car) and have little time to drop it off, swap cars, etc. Anyone else agree here?? |

my new 08 signals were dead on pickup. I put on a Jardine kit and my dealer in SD warrantied the turn signals, no questions, no costs but they did have to perform the work. My selling dealer offered to wty out the lights if I sent them the bad ones in advance but I chose not to wait for all the shipping back n forth. Dave |

I just took mine in for rear signal and they replaced it. They wont just trade, a dealer will have to do any warranty work. Just the way it is, I could have pulled it out in 10 seconds and traded it but had to wait about an hr for them to go through the motions. Another thing is they dont just swap the bulbs they change out the whole stalk and all. Even though its much easier to just swap bulb assy out of the housing. |

just get the all in one unit from xblights and be done with the hassle. Its a ton brighter, way cleaner looking and can be ordered any way you want it. I ordered mine with strip lights , clear lens, blinkers built in and led lights facing down for the lic plate. Nice product!!!! |

Dealers need to do the work, that is SOP. Buck up and just get'r done. That's why I'm heading to my dealer tomorrow for a weeping clutch for them to do the work. I'm just lucky since I have a GREAT dealer (Bumpus).. Time4Dinner Neil S. |

Had them replace mine. Bought it and noticed they didn't work. One of the guys had to drive about 40 miles to another dealership to pick them up and they installed them that day. |

Part of the "price" for warranty work is, the shop has to do the work of removal/installation. Not as big a deal on a turn signal, but on larger items its a way for the factory to ensure the parts are properly installed, thus (hopefully) preventing future claims on the same part on the same bike due to mis-installation. Their parts, their money...their rules. |
