Court posted this in the session section. I believe this is very accurate and Erik is getting the short end of the stick . I was going to post a similiar statement. But he nailed it better than I could. Maybe HD will be using the Buell technology to produce it's own sportbike. Since it would have "HD" on the tank, it might encourage HD sales people to be more motivated to make the sale. Any racing success then would be "Harleys" and attract the attention of the younger riders. As these "younger riders" age, they would transition to the Harley cruiser scene. Just spitballin' here. I believe Harley wants their name not buell in the AMA.I also feel that sales would improve with the harley name on the bike. How many times I cant even count that I was told what kind of bike is that. That thing looks cool. What is a buell ,where do you buy them?Is it a european company?Nobody knows what a buell is.Time will tell what is up harleys chaps. Im glad I purchase one of Eriks fine pieces of work and will never trade it in on some rice Im ready to puke!! When I read this on buell.com A wholly owned subsidiary of <<<<Harley-Davidson, Inc. since 1998, Buell Motorcycle Company was founded in 1983 by Erik Buell and produced more than 135,000 motorcycles. |
