Two thumbs up! Fitment was a piece of cake. At first I didn't use the "Quiet Core" but I thought it was too loud (if there is such a thing.) I found that the quietest "level" is perfect for me. Other threads I have read, people have said that there is a big loss in power when using the quiet core. I only noticed a very slight loss from 4k to 6k. Nothing to complain about at all. There is no crackle when decelerating (at least on mine.) I painted the midpipe with black "hi temp silicone" from DEI because it comes polished (didn't look right on my bike) |

I also forgot to mention. I noticed the low speed surge is almost gone as well as shifting is A LOT smoother |

Is the -slight loss- of power compared to the stock pipe? Or compared to the slip-on without the quiet core? |

Did you do just the slip on system or the complete system? Also where did you buy it? (Message edited by xtreme6669 on September 27, 2009) |

The full system isn't out yet, and the term Apex is the name of the slip on. |

Stlcr09- not being smart, but how does the pipe smooth out the shifting? |

It's the synthetic muffler bearing grease they use. I heard they got it from NASA. |

Ds_Tiger, I really have no explanation on why its shifting smoother, but I didn't do anything else to the bike at that time. Zac4mac, Your wrong. Yes it is synthetic muffler bearing grease they use BUT they did not get it from NASA. It was left over from the Russian Space Program. Do your research before you post. |

I try to keep my posts useful, but that time the smartass won. You took it well. It IS odd for the trans to change due to the pipe. Gotta be coincidental, not related. Z |

will do. the headers and midpipe are done in black exhaust wrap. Ill get the pics tomorrow. I will try to do a ride along vid too. Zac, Could be coincidental. Maybe my bike hit the magic mileage when it smooths out at the same time I put the pipe on? |

FYI, the FMF group buy pipes just came in. See http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/290 431/492399.html?1254253574 We'll honor that price for all badweb shipments until the end of the week, so if you're looking for one of these, order it this week. I got several above the amount that I had orders for, so we'd be able to ship it out today. http://www.americansportbike.com/shoponline/ccp0-p rodshow/16179.html Al |
