do u need to repack the hmf exhaust every once in a while like some of the other aftermarket exhuasts for the 1125r? | ||

ok, i have no idea about this stuff so please forgive my stupidity on this subject. Ive never heard of anyone saying i need to repack my stock exhaust after so many miles like some of the other exhaust, so any idea how many miles till you have to repack the hmf? | ||

When it starts to sound 'tinny' and 'raspy'. Usually louder too. I wouldn't worry about it for a good 5000 miles at least. | ||

"After Market" Exhaust that are normally Riveted together after time the exhaust packing will get hot.and start to break down slowly. HMF, D&D, FMF, ARROW, all these and more all use repackable material in the muffler, Ther are not "chambered" exhaust. they are basically straight through screen type baffles that use packing around them to deflect and absorb sound. hope this is understandable. it is to me. | ||

ok thank you. last question... now that i know they all need repacking, hmf or d&d? is the hmf even nearly as loud or have as much rumble as the d&d? | ||

 i do "think" that the hmf would be easier to repack than the D&D. thats just my opinion. and from what i have heard the D&D is really loud. just my .02 |
